Everyone else is saying 'hi'...

Everyone else is saying 'hi' so I thought I would say hello and add a "thanks" for the forums and support they provide. Quick bio, 36M, married, 2 daughters (3.5 years and 19 months), weight now about 335, height 6'-1" and hoping for the final time to succeed with a life change and lose about 145 lbs. Diet is a basic low fat diet which I tend to do best on with exercise that I plan to increase in the near future.

Anyway, I'm sure I will be asking many questions so thanks in advance for reading my rants and babble!

Welcome! Sounds like if you have the best idea.

You said you are on a low fat diet. In reality, you should watch your caloric intake. Your body has the ability to turn anything you eat (protein, fats, sugar) into LIPIDS and storing them.

Watching fat is important, but the calories is where its at.

Also, get your spouse to do a lot of the baby sitting :p

Thanks for the 'welcome' mickeytoni! DeepGreen, yeah I try to watch my calories as well. I am basically doing a loose version of the Weight Watchers Points diet. I had a lot of success with it before....before I stopped doing it a couple of years ago.

I am a little confused on how many calories I should be consuming. I started an online nutrition tracker through the health club I belong to and it said for my scenario I should be taking in 2400-2900 calories. That seems high to me?

This is a snapshot of my day yesterday. 15 G's of fat and 302 Calories were due to damned Easter candy.

Total Calories: 2113 Carb=238g Prot=197g Fat=39g

Any comments are accepted and requested. Looking at the above numbers, where should I be???
