enough calories?

Hey guys. I'm trying to lose some body weight and tone up a bit. I weight train about 3 days a week and do cardio for 30-45 mins about 4-5X a week. I think on average, I take in about 1700-2000 calories a day. Just some advice, is that too low? too high?
 
as mentioned in that link, it depends on many things. your best bet is to guage your bodyweight and bodyfat % every week or two weeks and see how you're doing. :)
 
I'm actually wanting to do both....but I think losing body weight is more important for now. Right now, I'm about 5'8, about 225, 26 years old.
 
Your maintenance level is 2700 calories, 1700-2000 seems to be about the right number for 2 lbs of fat loss a week. Keep it up :)
 
Sure you can ask :) I used a calorie intake calculator off the web. There are a few different ones, but they all seem to be within 100 calories or so of each other.

. Do a google search for "calorie intake calculator" play around with them and see how close each one is.
