Hi guys, i'm Stacey, 19 and currently at university in Manchester studying Criminology.

Over the past 2 years i've started gaining weight continuously, particularly over the exam period, so decided enough is enough, I really want to get back to the same size I was before starting my A-Levels, which was a size 10/12. So I need to roughly loose about 3 stone, maybe just under that.

I don't have a great deal of time on my hands, so hoping a few trips to the gym per week, plus a few routines of my fitness dvd per week, and of course healthy eating. I'm just looking for motivation on this website! I'm great at starting diets/losing weight, it's just keeping it up that's hard. Hopefully this website will help me change that.

Anyhow just wanted to say hello, and if anyone fancies a random chat/wants a weightloss buddy, send me a pm or something, I promise not to bite!

Byeee :)

Hey there

Welcome to the forum,

there's some great stickies on the forums on how to come up with a plan for you. ALso its a good idea to start a diary so people can get to know you and give support etc.

see ya round

Welcome to the site :)

The problem with many diets, as it seems you have already experienced, is that they are temporary and while they can often lead to dropping the weight, they rarely lead to maintaining it. It would be a great idea to start reviewing what you eat on a day to day basis (keeping a diary here is incredibly useful and helpful in that respect) and seeing where you can start cutting things out permanently, it's amazing how easy it is to remove/replace aspects of your current routine while still feeling satisfied with what you've eaten.

Also, perhaps look at what exercise you can introduce into your normal routine... e.g. instead of getting the 42 down Oxford Road, walk- walking is underrated yet so easy to include and can help burn a few hundred calories every day in itself!

Welcome to the forum. I'm a big fan of walking too. Good luck and keep posting your progress. It will help you to receive feedback and keep you honest.

I'm in Portsmouth at Uni :) There are quite a few students around here! Good luck and let us know if you need any help!
