Hello there,
I am a 40 year old male with a bad knee and bad ankle.
As such the cardio I have found the least stressful on my joints is the Elliptical machine.
My question is this:
I am a big guy (275) I used to run many many years ago and my legs still retain a lot of strength.
So when I am on the elliptical I have a very hard time staying anywhere near my "target heart-rate" as suggested by the machine.
It is PAINFULLY SLOOOW... it feels like I am moving through molasses and not only is it simply hard for me to go that slow it is boring.
However to move at the speed that I want to move I usually put my heart rate in the red (again according to the machine) but I usually feel pretty good.
My normal workout is 45-60 mins going "pretty hard"
Honestly I go in and out of this workout (mostly out) and I have very rarely seen much weight loss success but I have experienced a other "health benefits"
Could someone please tell me the best way for me to use the elliptical machine for weight loss success?
Thanks!
