Ok, I'm going to start by answering the suggested questions....

-- How much weight do you want to lose?

57 lbs. total (from 182 to 125)

-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?
November 2006-June 2007

-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?
Diet and exercise :)

Actually, I joined LA Weightloss b/c my mom lost weight and kept it off, as did another girl I go to school with.

I joined Curves not too long ago and that has helped a lot so far.

Additionally, a good friend from college is also here in law school w/me and she's helping me learn to run (being an avid runner herself).

So, I am going to Curves M-W-F and "running" S-T-R and weighing in M-W-F

-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal? My friends and family are supportive, but there are a few who seem to constantly have to compare themselves to me.

-- How realistic is your goal? Very.

-- When will you start? I started at the beginning of November

I think I'll post on here each morning a review of the day before.

2 days worth

Well....I didnt' post yesterday b/c of messing up big time. I was fine until about 5:00 yesterday afternoon and then suddenly felt the need to pig out. Seems that I really like to feel full -- the kind of full where many people feel sick. Cutting back and all doesn't leave a lot of room for being that kind of full. Plus, I'm trying to eat through out the day, whereas I used to eat a lot only in the evening.

So, I tried to think about whether it was emotional eating, but it seems to be just more of a habit/boredom. It also depends on my other activities for the evening. E.g. tonight I worked at my seasonal job and food never crossed my mind (even though it's Godiva!:D ). But usually, my evenings are spent in the library or here at home studying and eating makes for a great study break/reward for studying.

Ok, so the plan for this situation:
1. Save some more of my protein and bulkier veggies for evening.
2. Instead of eating for study breaks/boredom: cleaning the house or taking a walk around the library for a few minutes.

Please let me know if you can think of any more suggestions!!!

Another hurdle I see coming is the drive to and from home for Thanksgiving. It's a long drive and I get bored and want to eat anything in sight. So, I've made up some notecards to memorize for finals and gotten some diet coke to take care of that nagging wanting to taste something constantly. As for Thanksgiving meals, my mom is making several healthy dishes. So nice of her!

Ok....on to today...

Food: B-fast - 1/2 bagel, apple, almonds. Morning snack -- one of the LA lite bars. Lunch-- chicken w/1 c. of lettuce and boiled egg , vinegar dressing. Afternoon snack -- 1 taco (cheese, tortilla, and beef). Dinner -- more salad stuff, apple, strawberries.

I think today was better b/c of keeping busy with activities that weren't sedentary (e.g. going to class, working, running errands). It's more difficult on days w/long study periods.

Looking forward to seeing my family tomorrow!!!!! :D

Wow, over 8lbs of you gone for good! Fantastic stuff!

I'm really pleased for you - keep up the good work! :)

Ok, got on the scale today. It's so much more fun when the numbers are going down! Down another .8 lbs to 173 even, 9 lbs. total. :D

Wish that I had realized earlier how eating fruits and veggies makes you feel SO much better.

Off to work and the library to study.

Hi! You're doing great! I also find that now I am eating properly I've stopped having these days where I felt run down, headachy and a bit sick. I think it was binge eating or too much sugar that did it. Also not having to carry around the weight I've lost so far makes life easier!
