Today is the first day of my change in lifestyle which will result in me being a healthier weight!

1.How much weight do I want to lose? I am currently 12st 8lbs. My final target is be a weight of 10st. My first goal is to achieve a weight of 11st 13lbs. My second goal is to achieve a weight of 11st 3lbs. At this stage my new lifestyle will be put in place.

Timeframe: 1 year from today 21-Dec-15

How to I want to accomplish this goal: I want a healthy lifestyle including a minimum of 30 mins exercise a day and a healthy eating plan. I want to use this forum as a support to reach this goal :)

Who or what can support reaching this goal:
I want to use this forum as a support to reach this goal :) and keep this goal in mind as a primary thought throughout the day.
I also want my husband and sister to support me.
I want my daughter to grow up with a healthy lifestyle with exercise as part of the norm and a healthy diet.
Most of all I want to do this for me, I want more energy and a more positive body image.

My goal is very realistic, I can do this.

I am starting right now.

1. Current weight 12st 8lbs
Current height 5'6

2. Ideal weight 10st

3. 4 month target 11st 8lbs

4. I want to lose weight for many reasons. I want to feel better about the way I look. I want to have more energy. I want to walk into a shop and not be limited to what I can buy because of size. I want to be healthier now so I can be healthier in later life. I want to live life to the full. I don't want to constantly hold my tummy in. I want to look at photos and not be disappointed with how 'fat' I look. I want to be fit. I want to be more positive. I want to have the strength and will to do this. I want to enjoy life as a new slimmer me.

6. Obstacles
Food, I love food. I need to plan out what I am going to eat during the day and stick to the plan. I need to prepare ahead of time. I need to do a weekly shop for healthy foods and not just random stops at the shop when I am hungry.
Will power is low, I need to have support around me
Lazy, I can easily persuade myself to start exercising tomorrow or start healthy eating tomorrow, that has to change.

8. Lifestyle Changes
Plan my week out in advance of what I am going to eat and what exercise I am going to do.
Set little goals and mini rewards to keep me motivated.
Make time to look after my health.

9. I had a baby last January and I have not been able to lose the weight. When I was pregnant I put on a lot of weight and was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. In addition to this during pregnancy I found out my thyroid hormones are quite low. Since having my baby my thyroid gland fluctuated in the amount of hormones it produced and settled down recently, so I am on tablets for that. I spoke to my doctor and she said the thyroid issue may be slowing down my metabolism and that is why I am finding it difficult to lose the baby weight. It also is a reason why I am so tired. I am not going to use this as an excuse but as a reason I have to
work even harder. Before my pregnancy I was a healthy weight with no issues.

11. For me I need to stick to a plan. I have gone exercising a bit and eat healthy for a while. I just need to commit myself to this.

17. I will take a second before eating something and ask do I really want this?
I will plan out my meals better
I will eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. After that only snack on fruit, yoghurt, veg if necessary

18. I want a flat tummy and toned arms and no double chin.

19. I can't really remember what it feels like to be hungry, I just eat at meal times (too much obviously) and snack throughout the day.

20. Binge eat sometimes, that's why I try not to buy too much in the house, sometimes I just eat and eat and eat - not really even tasting the food.

21. I do not hide food or eat in secret

22. Yes, eat when sad, nervous, depressed.

23. Yes, eat as a reward.

24. Yes, eat when watching TV

29. I like to exercise, its just getting the motivation to exercise. I like all exercises, swimming, running, jogging, gym classes.

Went out for lunch with family and so proud that I ordered a salad and refused dessert, go me. I did have garlic bread as a snack but only had half the quantity I normally have. Worked hard at maintaining a positive attitude throughout the day.

Tomorrow I will make healthier choices for snacks. I will go for a walk and do some tummy exercises. I will prepare and freeze healthy meal for baby.

Exercise none :(
Breakfast porridge
Lunch smoked salmon salad
Dinner capraise salad and garlic bread
Mood little irritable, very tired

Very tempted to have chocolate when watching telly but refrained, go me!

Ok, felt relatively positive throughout the day. Ate well until the very end of the day when I had some chocolate. I completed some tummy exercise even though I really didn't want to.

Things to work on tomorrow
1. Maintain a positive attitude to the new changes
2. No chocolate
3. Go for walk, belly and arm exercises, short circuit exercises x 3

Breakfast: porridge
Breaks: Apple x 2, yoghurt, chocolate squares x 8
Lunch: soup
Dinner: steak, potatoe, onions, mushrooms

Welcome to the forum Ellen! It's been a bit slow lately, but it will pick up soon. There are a lot of good supportive people here. You have a reasonable plan and goals. It's just a bit slow because of the holidays. I look forward to seeing your success!
