Effective ways to build arms, lose bum?

Hi, I am a male, and I have been very involved with computers and the like. Though it is a very enjoyable experience, and I am at an appropriate weight, I can't help but notice my flabby bum because of the fact that I sit at the computer a lot. It's very depressing when I look in the mirror and I have a great body, but my bum is too big. It's really discouraging for me because I'm a guy who looks like he has a female's bum, but with a lot more fat. I want to have a slim rear end like most other males generally do, and finally have the bum that compliments the rest of my body, which is rather slim. Any advice on any exercises or anything else that will get rid of my "computer bum" would be greatly appreciated.

Furthermore, I'd also like to build my arms a bit. I'm focusing on the upper arm because I'm not happy with my rather slender arms; I'd like a bit more muscle on them. I don't have any fancy machines or anything, but are there exercises I can do to build up my arms without those? Information on that would also be appreciated.

Can't spot reduce so if there is fat on your bum, you need to lose weight period. No exercise will help that specificly.

Sure, push-ups, chin-ups, dips. Do a google search on body weight exercise. Or you could get a set of dumbbells, or just lift jugs of water or whatever you have around the house.

I'm currently not really exercising with things like push-ups, sit-ups...not doing any stationary drills. Most of my work-out has been running, as I am a track athlete. I understand why you can't spot-train as I have attempted to do it before with no results. Push-ups and chin-ups etc sound effective for my arms, and I will try it, but of course, my main focus is getting rid of my feminine bum. I don't think I can really lose weight because aside from my bum, I am a rather skinny male. 5'7" and 130 pounds. However, if it means getting rid of my bum, I'd have no problem losing some fat and gaining more muscle and possibly toning my entire body more, if that's possible. However, I don't really know what kinds of workouts would be effective to get that kind of job done. Any ideas?

It is very hard to spot reduce, because weight loss happens over the whole body. It does not appear from what you have written that you are overweight.

Perhaps the thing to do is to increase the muscle in your bum. At least this will give you the sensation of feeling better and may bring some other benefits. I see a number of people at my gym doing "lunges" they are sort of very long stride deep-kneed advances across the flow carrying possibly some light dumbbells. They do these to tighten up the bum.

Try that. It will tighten up some.
