effective breathing

i heard somewhere that when running you should take deep breaths now and then rather then short ones all the time. what would say is the best way because i feel my biggest effort when running id when i feel myself running out of breath rather then actually feeling tired
 
That's actually normal to feel that way. However, you should take a few deep breaths every now and then while running to keep yourself from hyper-ventalating (sp?) It kinda sucks but try to focus your mind on something else like the music you're listening to. :)
