Holly cow people! I just started to track my food intake through fitday! Can someone give me some input?

37% protein

Day 2
2005 cal
22% fat
36% carb
42% protein

Day 3
2358 cal
23% fat
35% carb
42% protein

(my stats are 5'1" 112 / lifting 4 times per week cardio 4-5 times per week / goal is to tone overall)

I didn't realize how much I ate LOL

By "tone", do you mean gain muscle mass? If so, I'd say try to increase your protein and decrease carbs. If you mean you want to lose fat, I'd say multiply your body weight by 12-13 to get your calories for the day. Hope this helps.

Moonbeam, hate to answer your question with a question, but how is your progress going with these calories you are taking in ??

Well, I have noticed a difference. Lost a bit of weight, about 4 pounds, I was at 116 4 weeks ago and I'm difinitely starting to feel more firm. The muscle is starting to show, for examble when I cross my legs sitting down, my leg splits in two to show the muscle. I have also noticed it in my arms.

To answer Stace's question, I think what I want is to build more muscle. I figured that by working on that I would lose a little bit of fat as a result?

(I'm not really looking to get more thin)

That is what I noticed to . Lately I've been having about 300-400 more calories than what I had been used to. Roughly anywhere from 1800 to 2400 in that range. I have definately gained some lean muscle. Everyone can tell, and they also said that I am looking thinner at the same time. I've been eating more quality foods and more often . So that really clarifies what I thought too thanks for asking that question Moon. See ! I told you it would all be good! :)

Moonbeam3... you rock! Keep it up girl! To build muscle we must eat a caloric surplus. Sounds like you got it all right!

Woo hoo! You just made my day Lynn!! You're partially to thank Lynn, I've followed all your advise, not just to me but to others as well. And I've devoured (sp) your website, even printed out the workout logs! ;)
