eating to much fruit

can you eat to much fruit at night and how many cals are in fruit? thanks any help would be apreciated.
 
You can eat too much of anything - and it depends on the fruit! A cup of bananas (sliced) is 150 calories. A cup of halved strawberries is 49 calories. A cup of sweet cherries is 87 calories. A cup of chopped apples is 65 calories.

I recommend looking at nutritiondata.com or similar sites to figure out how much the particular fruit you're eating has.

Shouldn't matter what time you're eating them unless you find that somehow they give you indigestion.
 
i didn't know that there was such a thing as eating too much fruits. well i guess it is wrong as long as you don't get a balanced diet.
 
I think the main thing about eating too much fruit to me is that I can get sensitive to the excess acid if I eat a lot of oranges. I've gone through phases of eating 2 oranges 3x a day which makes me break out in a rash which I presume is from acid.
 
Well it depends on how much fruit you can eat at night.Similarly same is the case in fruits containing calories.If you will take a cup of chopped apples,it contains 64-66 calories in it,The cup of halved strawberries contain about 48-50 calories....
 
I would hardly worry about eating a cup of fruit at night of any sort. The amount of calories are really not going to hurt you.

Ok there is one fruit. Avocado which is very healthy but also very high in fat.

And then it seems bananas have about twice as many calories as most other fruit.

It's much better to eat fruit than almost anything else if you need it. There is more in fruit than sugar and calories. There are nutrients and fibre. The sugar in fruit should only be a concern to those who are intolerant of fructose or like Iain, sensitive to acids or whatever it is that upsets him. Sounds like he gets reflux. ?? ... Or perhaps to someone who is diabetic or insulin resistant. They should check with doctor or dietician or google.
 
It's really not eating at night that's 'bad,' it's the type of food that people tend to eat at night that's bad. Usually, people go for the chips, cookies, ice cream, etc. A serving of fruit would be an excellent choice of snack over most of the other night time foods.
