Hello everyone,
I'm a third-year Nursing student - this means the beginning of 12-hour shifts for our clinical studies.
I've recently decided to be vegan. It's been working well... except yesterday. I completely botched it by eating a grilled ham and cheese sandwich after the end of my clinical day. The trouble was that I was feeling really tired and the thought of going home to fix myself a nice bowl of healthy salad and beans did not appeal to me at all. I didn't even take a second look at the orange in my bag. I just wanted a nice cheesy sandwich to shove into my mouth. I was hungry, tired, and stressed out and just did not think. My feet just moved on their own. I didn't regain my consciousness until after the sandwich had been devoured. Needless to say, I felt terrible.
I was wondering.... Does anyone have any words of wisdom or tips for me to get over the end-of-the-work-day hump without eating crap that will only make me feel bad later?
