Eating Late Bad?

I usually have my dinner at like 10 PM or maybe sometimes 11 PM, this is because I sleep very late like at 3:00 AM...is this very bad? should I stop this now if I want to lose more fat? whats the latest time should I eat?

If it fits into your macro requirement for the day then it's fine.

I see yeah...because if I ate at like seven or eight o'clock then I would get really hungry at like midnight or one o'clock, yeah I need to adjust my sleeping habit lol.

depends; typcially the body sleep wake cycles should be in bed by 10 and up at 6am though if you changed your bodies natural rythem where you sleep later and wake up later than it is possible.. I reccomend not eating with in 4 hrs of going to bed if you want to get lean..

though depending on your goals you may want to eat later... though remeber if you eat late at night you are giving the body the job to digest your food you ate and if you are going to sleep right away it will take away from your rem sleep the deep sleep where you release higher levels of growth hormone, we all know how important this is so I wouldn't miss out on it so I personally don't reccomend big hard to digest meals before bed.. I would use the 4 hr rule... though sleep is essential and if your not getting quality sleep and not on the bodies rythem it can cause problems down the road, not to mention it can hurt you a great deal if you try to build muscle or lose fat. Quality deep sleep is essential for the human body, where we recover and rebuild...

It's a false myth if you heard the one I heard... that you shouldn't eat before you go to bed because it stalls as fat. Your body continues burning fat and energy even when you sleep but it does it at a slower rate because you’re not moving. Although it doesn’t really matter that much you should avoid eating before you go to sleep but if you have too try having a bowl of cereal, I read it somewhere lol.. Forgot the reason why but something to do with it being slow release or something.

Yeah hope that helps lol

My work schedule is so that I don't tend to eat until around 8-9pm. Because I'm at work till about 5:30 then I work out until about 7:45 so I need to feast when I get home. That is my main meal of the day. During the day I tend to eat fruit and salad for lunch which does get boring at times but in the mornign I have cereal and a slice of toast with peanut butter. So my evening meals have to be hot food and a proper meal otherwise I feel weak the next day.

But deep sleep is the key defo.

I agree that eating late isn't necessarily a bad thing. Try to lay off the carbs in your last meal though.

or at least starchy carbs (bread, crackers, pasta, rice). you don't need an insulin spike at bedtime.

cottage cheese is a GREAT bedtime meal. loaded with slow digesting casien protein, some whey, calcium, and naturally occurign amino acids like glutamine...man its just hard to beat. and the stuff is cheap, especially compared to 'night time protein powders'...which are just casien blends anyways.

2 cups of milk isn't bad either.

of course all dairy contains the sugar lactose, but its not in high quantities (fewer carbs in 2cups of milk than 1 slice of bread) and they won't spike insulin as much as, well, bread for example.
