Sport Eating before cardio.

I KNOW this was asked somewhere before, so I'm really sorry if it's a clone.

How long before cardio? I figure eating about 30 minutes before should be fine. I tried eating about 5 or 10 minutes before and felt sort of sick.
 
whatever you can tolerate and doesnt hamper the workout. looks like you already have some guidelines to follow from personal experience.

i have to wait over an hour if its solid food and roughly 20-30 minutes if its liquid
 
I'm a subscriber to the old "Stay Hungry" school. I tend to work out hungry to make sure everything's going to the struggle. Don't like the feeling of food or even a drink in my stomach any less than 2 hours before a workout. Also, I choose to believe digestion competes with the muscles for blood.
