Dutch girl trying to lose US fat :P

Hey y'all!

Now, now, don't get all upset over the title to this post. Here's the story:

I've been a BIG girl all my life and have struggled with it, but never really took the trouble to watch my diet or exercise properly. In fact, until I found out about ellipticals, I thought I hated exercise!

I spent three years in the US for a job and in those three years gained about 50 kilos! (roughly 110 lbs) The portion sizes are bigger than in Europe, there's sugar in everything...and, let's face it: my idea of a perfect breakfast is a Grande Chai with a Cranberry bliss Bar! Usually, that was lunch too  Add to that some real serious work-related stress/depression and voila! The perfect recipe for gaining a LOT of weight.

And NOW it needs to come off! I feel terrible and what's worse...I would love to have a boyfriend again but it's been a while AND I don't feel attractive at all...so that all needs to change.

Me weighing in this morning:
109,5 kilos (241.4 lbs)
Bodyfat: 38,4 %
Muscle index: 31,2 %

GOAL: 70 kilos (154.3)

And second goal....look more like Angelina Jolie rather than like a hippo! I already have the lips:rotflmao:

The PLAN:
- Watch what I eat. I don't want to do any specific diet, but I've cut bread and other glutinous stuff out of my diet completely. I never liked potatoes anyway (which is a drawback with Dutch cuisine, let me tell you).

- Work out at the gym at least 3 times a week. I attend two classes, one with weights on Mondays and one with Pilates on Wednesdays (my gym: Fitness First).

- Walk outside for an hour every weekend. I live close to the beach and really want to go every weekend, but I usually end up sitting on the couch reading instead.

And a message to all of you: Thanks for the inspiration and please help me get there!

all the best from The Netherlands,
Cat.

welcome to the site and do start a diary :D

Just remember you didn't get to where you are overnight, it's not going to come off overnight, just be patient with yourself and don't rush too much :)

you're gonna do fine, sounds like you're plenty motivated :D

Thanks maleficent!

It's gonna be tough doing this, but I really want it...it also helps that I'm sorta falling in love with a boy at the moment :beating: and I'm sure he doesn't even notice me! [Not that I'm hard to overlook *grumble*]

Also I'm going on a hiking trip this summer all by myself and I have to be able to walk for a few hours with my backpack and get myself out of trouble!

I just bought myself a new iPod to encourage myself to get MOVING...music always helps!
