Dumbell Military Press

When I am doing my dumbell MP's, I always feel that I arch the bottom of my back away from the seat to help me get the weights up.

However I think this may be defeating the object, whilst also putting un necessary pressure on my lower back.

Should i be concentrating on keeping my back slapped against the seat back rest, or just go with my current form?

It could be a sign that the core stablizers are weak. I suggest you drop the weight and begin performing the presses on a seat. As you push the weight up, concentrate on pushing your back against the back of teh seat. It doesn't have to touch the back but it should get in the habit of tightening up your abs as you press weight overhead.
