Droping The Weight Before A Wedding

Liddieloo, Congrats!!! You look wonderful. Now on to newlywed bliss!

Welcome to all the new faces in here. Welcome Pancake, Madness and RealityBride. Keep us posted on how things are going. I love to hear good news!

RealityBride--its hard to say. It all depends on where you hold your weight (dresses are sized according to your largest measurement). If you look on line, you can see the actual measurements for each size. This may help a bit. My dress has a corset tied back instead of a zipper, which is great because it gives you about two sizes of flexibility. I have lost about 40lbs now and I would guess that I have gone down from around a 16 when I first tried dresses on to somewhere around a 10/12 now. I'm around 5'4" and now about 142. The amount of dress sizes you change might be different if you are taller, shorter, or starting out heavier or smaller...etc. Im curious about "contractually obligated", though. Care to share how the show arrived at the 50lbs or what happens if you don't make it?

Update: So I am almost at my goal weight (2.6lbs away). I will be trying my dress on again when I hit it. Then I'll see how things look. I might need it taken in! Hard to believe...when I bought it in February I was 20lbs heavier and it was just a teensy bit snug! I posted pictures a little while ago, 10lbs heavier. I can't wait to see what it looks like, now.

Holy crap! Way to go lusciouslemon! That's some great weight loss!

I hate buying dresses. I have big hips and a small waist. I always have to have things tailored.

I'm probably not going to wear a dress for the wedding though. I'm going to let my fiance decide (he's never even seen me in a dress!). We are going super casual - backyard wedding, etc. He did say the other day that he wants me to wear something sleek and sexy though so I'm thinking dress now.
