DragonHand's Journey

so i recently quit smoking pot. i'm trying to kick tobacco and "junk food", and my ultimate goal is to lose 65 pounds and keep it off. changing my diet is a struggle as not everyone in my house has to watch what they eat.

i am determined to spend the second half of my life in a healthier state then i spent the first half.

i will use this thread to record my progress on a weekly basis.

currently i am 245 pounds. i lift weights and do cardio everyday, yoga 3-4 times a week.

If you can quit one habit I'm sure you can kick the others. Although, I imagine trying to kick them all at once would be pretty tough.

I'm in about the same boat as you, exercise daily, around 245 lbs and need to lose about 50, will be posting on my progress. If I find any loopholes, I'll let you know, but I think it's going to be more about commitment and hard work.

I wish you the best and hope you achieve your goals!

Be well,

Aaron

well this week i increased how much i was lifting. (powerlifting) as a result my upper-body and back became extremely soar after a couple days, which impacted what kind and how much cardio i could do. i con't to struggle with my eating habits.

so long story short: i didn't lose any weight this week. still 245 on the nose. my back still hurts, i think i need to soak in a hot tub.

on a positive note, i got a used exercise bike! i plan to add at lest 40 minutes a day of cardio to my routine with it.

good news this week!

mid-week was looking bleak as i gained a pound. however, getting dressed minutes after getting off the scale i discovered my waste had gotten smaller, as i needed to make a new hole in my belt. then i put on a t-shirt which is a little on the small side, and rather then it being tight across my belly, it was tight in the sleeves. so it seems i was losing fat and gaining muscle.

although i found this encouraging, i still like to see the numbers on the scale go down. so decided to step up my cadio, and do less weight lifting (every other day) i also decided to spit my work out.

i now do a small amount of cardio before and after breakfast. then do a much more aggressive work out in the evening.

also was much better about my eating habits.

results: 242 lbs, which is 4 pounds in 4 days.

so the scale was going up and down. i would lose weight then gain it back, i was so confused. then i found out how many calories are in beer. and noticed my weight would go up the day after i drank beer. cut it out of my diet and has been steadily going down since.

caloriecount.com has been a great tool for me. i can track not only my calorie intake but how many calories i burn.

so results right. well my weight had gone up to 245.4 lbs. on the 22nd (which is higher then when i began)

today: 239 lbs. :p

is so worth it to not drink beer!

thanks man.

the smily in your post is clapping perfectly to the beat of "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga as i type this :rotflmao:

k...life is crazy, i can't believe it's been a month since i last logged in. more work, less time to exercise, still eating good tho.

current weight: 227 lbs.
