Don't take this the wrong way

I think this is a great forum, But I was not aware that you could not put links to your blogs on here. True my blog has adsense on it, but what website doesn't these days. Even this forum has adsense on it. I think that is hypocritical. I tell people to join the forum and you get clicks, but I can't talk about my blog that could help someone loose weight. I thought that's what the forum was for. There are also some people that have links to pages with ads on them that have been posting for a while. I guess you have to know someone.

I like the forum and I want to stay here, but lets be fair ok.

I didn't put this here to strike back. My PM privileges have been suspended or something.

you can talk to people to hep them lose weight but you can't reference your blog - what's the problem -share yourself not your links ...

once you've established yourself as a member here - then links are more acceptable but as a first post -no they aren't...

and pm priveledges come when you've been here for more than a coupe of days - that's to prevent spammers from pm'ing members

It's the rules.

Like them or not.... they are what they are.

This community has been very successful in terms of traffic and weight loss. If we allowed any and all websites, everyone out to make a buck would be coming here with intentions I know I am not okay with, and the site administrator is definitely not okay with.

So let's be fair and respect what we have going here, it's a good thing.

I'd be ok with an approval process for outside sites, but the admin isn't. It's his world as long as you want to be part of this community.

No problem. I just thought that advertisements meant e-commerce sites or people selling products. I thought my blog was harmless. I am a rule follower and I like the forum and would like to stay. Cause I want to look like Steve 1 day. Group hug guys?:grouphug:

No harm no foul.... I actually asked the same question as you.

But when I broke it down, I realized it's not my site so there's not much I can do.

And truth be told, regulating which websites were or weren't appropriate would be a bear.

G'day. Um, since this topic was brought up, just wondering if it's okay to put a link to your blog in your sig. I've had the link in there ever since I began posting, and no one has pulled me up on it. So, i don't know if I'm breaking the rules or not. If I am, I'll gladly take the link out. I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple of links to blogs in other people's sigs as well, though, so, you can see my confusion. I don't think I've ever actively advertised it, though, if that makes any difference.

Sorry for the hassle, this is probably all pointed out somewhere I obviously haven't read :D Sorry again.

the rules about signatures and what's allowed is posted in the signatures thread basically if you have any kind of advertising in your blog - including google ads, then it's not allowed but you can make it your home page and if p eople are interested they can get there from your profile...

Ah ok, cheers for that.
