Don't know where to start! :(

Hi everyone,

I’m totally new to fitness. I have never tried to loose weight before but after giving up smoking I want to get healthier! However I have NO idea where to start. I have been sitting on my computer for the last 2 hours reading posts on different websites and stuff and I’m more confused now then when I started.

I am 4ft 11 and about 9.5 stone, an unhealthy BMI so I want to improve this. I am also really unfit (I can’t even touch my toes anymore :( ). I need some really basic exercises to ease me in gently. I don’t expect big results from this it’s just a starting point for me. So just really basic things to get me ready for more moderate workouts. If anyone could suggest some things to me I would be so grateful. I’m clueless so please explain as well if you could.

i think the best starting point for you is probably going to be walking. just start out walking about 20 minutes or however long you can handle. start eating healthier. include more whole foods, less processed. and drink lots of water. just remember to not overexert yourself. you don't want to start out with too much and get burnt out..
 
Weight training needs to be an essential part of everybody's fitness regime in order to boost up the metabolism and fight aging. Add 1 min push-up, 2 min wall squat, 1 min superwoman, 2 min reverse lunge, 2 min calf raise, 2 min lateral raise, 1 min shoulder press, 3 min leg lift, 3 min crunches, 2 min cool down and there you are ready to move on. All it takes is two or three 15- to 20-minute strength-training sessions a week to build more muscle mass.
