does weightlifting make it harder to lose body fat?

i hear different from every source i meet.
some say that both is the best way to burn fat and make muscle ..
some say that you cant do both, because weightlifting makes it harder to burn fat.

i want to do both ... i really do think its possible to lose max fat and make good gains at the same time.
is what im doing here not true or what ?
ne one know ...
thanks

We all have a matenience rate. This is the number of calories you can eat per day and stay at the same weight. To gain significant muscle you have to eat over your matenience weight. To lose fat, you eat below it. That being said, you cant really make significant gains in both areas (fat loss and gaining muscle) at the same time.

Most people go through a bulking phase. Thats where you eat above your matenience and gain muscle You will gain fat doing this also, but if you do it right you'll gain more muscle then fat. Then they go through a cutting phase. Thats where you eat below your matenience and lose fat. You may lose a little muscle doing this, but you wont lose much if its done correctly.

i see what your saying, but i still believe u can still make significant gains (not max, but still some) while eating less calories than you need.
im not in any huge rush to get huge, (i actually dont even want to be HUGE, just big enough to reach my personal goals)... so im still going to make some gains ... and lose body fat.

its completly understandable how you need to eat alot more calories than you medium calorie intake to gain max muscle, but like i said ... i can let it come over time ... i just need to get some of this fat off of me.
thanks for all the input
