Does this sound like a reasonable daily workout to you?

5-10 minutes of warm up
10 minutes of weight lifting
20 minutes on mini-trampline
5 minutes of skipping
20 minutes on the exercise ball (bit of yoga and pilates thrown in..)
10 minutes of weight lifting
5-10 minutes warming down

and maybe a bit of cycling thrown in (hour to two hours per week)

65 minutes a day and I have 38lbs to lose, not going over 1000 calories.

Does it sound reasonable? (I'm currently unemployed so I have a lot of free time, lol)

By "not going over 1000 calories" are you saying you're eating under 1000 calories per day?

I know how it sounds, but thats pretty much all protein shakes, chicken breast, tofu, fish (healthy stuff - as much as i'd love it from the chippy down the road) lentils, and sugar free jelly. i get everything i need (RDA) from what i eat, mainly from the protein shakes. It does sound unhealthy but its really not, lol:)

Health aside, what about metabolic backlash from such an extreme approach? How do you plan on managing that? And are you concerned about weight? Or body composition? Big difference.

And just for curiosity's sake... how many grams of protein are you getting per day?

60 grams of protein in the shakes alone :) metabolic backlash - something wrong with my metabolism because my liver doesn't function properley - not diabetes - don't know the specifics, but i've reviewed it all with my doctor and he says its fine as long as i follow the diet he set out, which i am.

and weight mainly, but see what happens to my body composition anyways.

and pleaaaase don't assume i'm some idiot whos going on this uber extreme diet and develops serious health issues as a result of it. i have talked this through with my doctor and following strict guidelines set out by him, and at the same time, i'm training to be a nutritionist, so, really, i know how much i should be taking in and what isn't healthy, etc. I'm just not sure on the exercise side of things yet.:)

Suit yourself.

Doctors typically are the last people I'd go to for nutritional advice and even if you said you were a nutritionist I'd still be skeptical as the majority I've dealt with aren't worth their weight in poo.

But you're job isn't to prove your knowledge to me. If you don't want objective advice about nutrition, that's fine.

Personally, in good faith, I'm not going to bypass that aspect of your "programming" and give you advice elsewhere. I equate that to changing a flat tire while the car is on fire.

I hope someone else comes along who can give you a hand.

Best to you.

Wow, okay. I wasn't rejecting your advice I was just saying please don't talk to me like I'm an idiot. And thanks, obviously you live in America, I live in England, and Doctors ARE usually who you go to for nutritional advice, and in the U.k. nutritionalists are actually considered to be worthy health professionals.

Thanks for your advice

Sorry if I made you feel like an idiot. This was not my intention in the least.

Take care.
