Sport Does anyone here plan exactly their meals for the week

Sport Fitness
yeah me too..usually not for a whole week but at least a few days in advance...right down to portion size which I later measure...It's a science that helps your body be all that it can be for lack of a better phrase..But also curious why you ask..Is it because you feel that it is odd that you do it? Or even obsessive? Tell anyone who thinks that it is obsessive that it is the extreme you must go to to have an extreme body!!

I wish i was organised/focused enough to plan meals etc. I just decide on something a fancy (obviously a meal suiting my goal)

I used to sit down and write out a weeks menu. I wish I could keep it up but as a student it was tough. Now I just base my meals around whatever vegetables are in season and what lean protein was on sale

I think it's a bad idea and a cause for failure for the average person.

You can't predict what you want to eat 12 hours from now. You might say, "chicken" but then 12 hours from now, you might want "fish."

The problem with this for the average person is that they see it as a "fail" point. Like they plan to eat a salad for lunch, but then a few friends come along and take them to a fancy eating place and they order what everyone else is eating... which isn't salad. Then they come back and feel like they "failed" because they didn't eat their "healthy" meal.

I say go with the flow. Understand what each food might contain and just adjust according to your goals.

i never plan on meals through the week or else my diet seems harder to follow cuz it seems boring I do plan my cheat meals however

Planned out is what meals will be for supper and lunch a week in advance. I do lunch this way because if I don't I'll procrastinate until the morning of and stare off into the fridge at 6 in the morning not really caring what I will eat later. I always have the same thing before bed. I always have the same breakfast.

The only thing that might change on the fly is I decide to have tuna fish instead of chicken or steak instead of X meat. What doesn't change is what I have with lunch-pumpkin seeds, cucumber, celery, carrots, and an orange.

Thankyou for all your comeback. I dont think it is obsesscive or anything, i was just honestly curious as i wanted to know how u planned it out. Like if u say i will have 100g of chicken mon, tue, wed. then on thurs have turkey, n fish friday, n sat. And like what fruit n tht, and do you plan the exact calories u are going to eat.

Atm i am planning exactly the food and calories i am going to eat the day b4, i was just seeinf if any1 planned as long as maybe 5 days or a week.

Does any1 have it all their food plan set up in excel or anything, atm im just writing it in an exercise book with squared lines, like one of those from school, haha

Yep, we make a menu on Saturday and then go to the store and buy everything we need for it. Soooo much more easy to organize and plan that way.

I typically have everything planned out. For example, I have blueberries, strawberries, and a banana for breakfast along with a cup of milk, a serving of fiber supplement, 2 scoops of protein and 12 ounces of water. I know at lunch, I'm going to have a 1/2 cup of pumpkin seeds or almonds, 1 orange, 1/2 a cucumber, 1/2 a bell pepper, 2 stalks of celery, and 2 carrots. At this point, I just pick if I want a chicken wrap, a can of tuna, grilled steak, etc on the protein serving. Before bed is always cottage cheese and cucumber. With dinner I always try and get in spinach and broccoli. I really like dinner and it's never made out of a box or a can.

I don't plan on X number of grams of protein; I just make sure I get it all in by the end of the day. If you decide to keep a food journal, after a month or so you'll get pretty good at tracking kcals and grams as you go along.

See reply above.

When I'm counting calories, I'll track everything on fitday.
