Does anyone go to bed hungry?

I am sure you have all heard the old adage of - eat like a king at breakfast, prince at lunch and pauper at dinner.

Anyone follow this?

I used to consume most of my calories in the evening and have been switching around my intake. It seems to be helping with dropping the pounds but I am going to bed hungry.

I'm there with ya...

I have the same problem. I used to totally pig out in the evening, so now my body just seems to be programmed that way. I just drink lots of water or eat a popsicle, you know, a low cal one, they're pretty much all juice, but it seems like the oral fixation of biting it seems to do the trick. Good luck to you.

I struggle with night eating It's mostly boredom. I try to eat low cal veggies or a container of frozen yogurt (80 calories). I think it's just something to do. I can't remember going to bed hungry.

I sometimes find myself hungry at bedtime. It's frustrating because you can't sleep but I will allow myself a snack like some fibre cereal (which I'm glad I love) or fruit. Even just a nice glass of water really works. And then you sleep and soon enough - BREAKIE TIME ! :)

I have class after work tuesdays and thursdays. I'm always starving when I get out of class. last semester I would stop by wawa everday and grab a chicken sandwich. I would usually stop at the wawa on the way to class and grab a coffee and breakfast sandwich (I had class from 9-2).

So it was very very bad. This semester I just hold out and get home and goto bed (I hope. Only had 2 weeks so far). I don't have class till 9:30 so i try to make myself a little something before class so I don't end up stopping at wawa.

Every single night just before bed I have a protein shake and a spoonful of peanut butter.I always leave enough cals so I can have this my peanut butter is like a treat every night(sad I know)I dont like going to bed hungry, being a bit hungry any other time dosen't really bother me though

Supposedly, it doesn't matter when you eat your calories during the day, just how many you eat. If you are strict about counting your calories, just save some extra for the evening and you'll be fine.

I find that going to bed a little hungry helps motivate me, and I lose more weight. When I wake up, I'm really ready for a good breakfast, something I usually didn't do before. That sets me up for a good day of eating right.

I don't like to eat too soon before going to bed because it gives me heartburn. If I'm hungry a glass of water or a little milk usually helps.

I never go to bed hungry I Don't think it matters a whole lot when you eat. A deficit is a deficit. But I've read that you might want to avoid carbs before bed because it can trigger fat storage. Something to do with insulin, but im no expert.

i always go to bed hungry. i'm okay with that. i do try to go to bed earlier than norm, so i don't feel hungry.

I can't sleep if I'm hungry, but I go to bed pretty early so I don't really have time to get hungry again after dinner. However, I wake up STARVING...didn't used to be like that, and I get up at 5am!

i prefer being a little hungry goign to bed, cause tehn i tend to eat a bit less the next day, not sure why. I've heard that saying, i dnt think it actually matters for weight loss when u consume your calories, but i think it is good to have a big breakfast and smaller dinner. makes sense that u eat to fuel you for the day and then less as it goes on, i dont' really know though.

I eat many smaller meals a day. I spread them out enough that I'm usually having my last one around 9 PM so I don't go to bed hungry.

I do now.

I used to eat two hot dogs or nachos every night before bed in College. I guess that's what happens when you live next door to an On The Run and prices for that was like $2. I won't deny it, it was delicious and I do crave it sometimes.

I rarely go to bed hungry. Cottage cheese and fruit is my usual snack. Not too much but enough to satisfy my appetite.

Feeling deprived might help me lose weight, but it isn't sustainable. I'd rather have a diet/lifestyle that I can live with. Frankly if I've consumed all I should for the day I have two options, go burn some calories or go to bed early, before I get too hungry...

i usually try not to eat after 8pm
if i do get hungry or want a snack after 8pm which is pretty rare
i drink water or eat a sugar free jello cup 10 calories just try to keep it light
but do go to bed hungry

I am a night eater too. From 10pm-12am, I start to crave EVERYTHING. I mainly eat Weight Watchers ice cream bars which are low fat & low cal. A piece of whole grain bread with a slice of turkey and mustard. I also do the Weight Watchers plan, so I stay within my weekly 35 for this. I have heard so many times that its so bad to eat late, but I eat late EVERY night and I've managed to drop 55 lbs. I dont think it matters either, I just think it matters WHAT you eat. Like dont eat a hamburger & fries or a lasagna before bed.
