I have 36lbs to go to get to my goal of 125lbs. I am walking 3 miles every other day. total of 12 miles a week. i will soon be doing strength training on the days that i don't walk. working the stomach, back, thighs, butt and legs. as well as some upper body workouts for my arms and chest. I want to be able to have before and after pics for my family by May and i wanted to know if any of you think i can get to my goal but then? Thanks for reading. Please dont be to harsh.

Take your time, take it slow this should be a life time thing for you not a quick fix to prove you have before and afters so you will get to your gold just continue on your journey.

Hard to say what you can do given the information you shared. Exercise is great, but controlling what you eat is the key ot losing weight ... and the closer you get to your goal weight, the more important what you eat becomes.

arghhhhhh sooo true. i found i was eating very very healthily and doing 10 hours a week exercise. but in the last fortnight i've stuck with the healthy eating, and knocked the exercise way back. and i've been actually losing more weight.

i was over exercising and not eating enough obviously.

i guess wat i'm saying to me is i thought exercise would be the cure all. but i could have looked at it as being more the eating and not exhausted myself completely for a fair while there!!

Half of that would be a reasonable goal, I think. That would still be worth some before and after pictures.

Even if you lose 1lb a week, since you aren't very big to begin with, you should lose a noticeable amount of weight.

36lbs is a lot to lose in that time for someone your weight. If you weighed more and were just starting a diet, I would say you could do it.

You could lose a good deal of weight the first 2 weeks if you have a very high sodium diet and have lots of water weight.

Still, if you keep consistant till may you should lose enough to make for some good before and after pictures.

I agree with Jeff here. It depends a lot on your current weight and diet. But I think you are off to a great start!
