Just wondering what vitamins you take and why? How do you know what is right for you?

I take iron with vitamin c because whenever I get a bloodtest done I am always low in iron
I also take L - Lysine one tablet per day. I used to regularly get cold sores but I havent had any since taking this.
Just wondering whether you take regular supplements or vitamins and why?

Is there a standard set of vitamins we should be taking?

I take a multi-vitamin every once in a while. I usually just don't think of it, so I forget to sometimes.

I notice that when I do take a multi-vitamin though, my energy level is usually raised a bit and it helps to keep my headaches away. I get really bad migraines on a frequent basis. It doesn't stop THOSE, but it helps my every day, pain in the ass, annoying headaches.

i take Ocular Essentials, it's a multi-vit and I take it twice a day. I mean it helps my body out, but I mostly take it for my eyes.

ive started taking a multivitamin everyday... and then i poke a hole in a vitamin e pill and use the oil on my skin...

i would also like to start taking a vitamin b complex...

Being a vegetarian I used to take some additional B vitamins and iron along with the rest of my diet. Now that I'm tracking my calories and vitamins on Fitday the only vitamin I really seem to be lacking is D. So I've started taking a multivitamin daily... when I remember to that is.

I take Iron tablets as Iron is realy the only thing i don't get enough of in my diet despite the good amounts of meat that i eat.

.

For me, I have a T2 diabetic body. Thus, my body needs in-depth blood tests every 3 months. Test from hbA1C, BP, Pulse, LDL & HDL Cholestoral, etc. etc. Based on "averages" from my previous 4 blood tests, my body is now taking:

- 2 x 1,500 mg of Vit-C. Mostly because I cannot take citrus items anymore.
- 2 x Calcium. Mostly because my body has very little daily milk.
- 2 x Vit D. Mostly because my body gets very little exposure to sunlight. Winter time thing.
- 1 x 81 mg baby asprin - to thin my blood - to reduce future heart attach risk.
- 1 x glass red wine every day - usually at night. To thin my blood as well.

So far, my blood's Vit-B, iron and other minimum levels are ok. But, could quickly change in the future.

I should be taking Omega 3 / Fish Oil to help my body even more. Ran out last week and haven't replaced the bottle. (sad). Every other day, I also take a multi-vitamin for Men. Thus, ensure my body gets its minimum vitamins as well....
