Do you get support?

HI everyone,

i would be interested to find out who is supporting you in reaching your goal. Is your familiy supportive or do they ignore the fact that you want to lose weight?
My biggest downfall is chocolate and ice-cream and I am very fortunate to have a partner that helps me not to indulge too much. Sometimes this is very annoying...I sit down with a bar of chocolate and start eating and after two pieces comes the comment - "don't you want to leave some for next time" or better "it all tastes the same, whether you eat two pieces or ten". Well, most of the time I pack it away. Like I said sometimes annoying while it is happening, but in the end I am very thankful and happy. Not only does it prevent me from feeling bad that I ate it at all and gaining weight it also makes the chocolate last that much longer and I can indulge in 'two' pieces the next time:D

I LOVE your quote, "it all tastes the same, whether you eat two pieces or ten". I'm going to have to use that one sometime! :)

HI there,

well I do get support from my husband, because he knows I am happier once I fit into my favorite clothes again. We try to eat healthy anyway and I rarely buy 'junkfood' anymore. The biggest problem is when we are invited to friends and family for dinner or whatever. They go through so much trouble and there is always dessert and "today doesn't count" or "just a little bit" or "once won't hurt you"....you probably all know what I mean. They just don't know how often "today" or "once" actually is for me. And I don't want to disappoint them, so I eat the cake and whatever is offered. It also tastes always so good, but it doesn't help me lose weight:(

well my partner is supportive and my kids are too (cuties cuties) My family is also supportive and accutually My mum and I try and do it together cus she is wanting to lose some weight too so it makes me feel like im not alone but we are helping each other :).

HI Gizza,

that's terrific, that you have support all the way round. You ccan meet with your mum for the exercises. If you make appointments with someone else it is harder to break them.;)

Keep up the good work - you are doing great:)

aw thanks Lisa.. yea i am trying my hardest to keep to it, and so far i have done pretty well, i always find the first 2 weeks the hardest cus usually i do really well for the first 2 weeks but then i go back to my old ways but so far i have kept to it and i think i am going onto week 4, but it makes it so much easier when u have support....

What a good question! I've got lots of folks who are generally supportive, but as I live alone, there's no one but the dog who's there for most of my meals. Diana (my dear dog) does her best to help me limit my food in-take - she lets me know over and over that she'll happily eat some for me :) Actually, my dog has helped me get over the "if I don't eat it then I'm wasting food" thing. I don't waste a crumb of food - Diana's always happy to clean up!

just don't do what my step mom did and turn your dog (or cat in my case) into a unhealth one. She has now turned two cats that were in great shape into big, fat blobs. We now call them 'punt' and 'fatty' ...

My dog does get plenty of exercise, and if she has a lot of leftover, I reduce her kibble proportionally :)

I'm glad you're willing to point that out, though - I certainly didn't indicate that I was making sure to watch my dog's weight in my original post :)

All the quotes I recieve are like"It's not like you have this everyday.""Don't you try to be a waster!""Once a while won't hurt....""You don't eat carb,How do you survive?"(Well, actually I eat fiberous carb. It's just hard to explain.)
But one quote that I like the most is"You do have a great motivation."

Even though my family is not quite a supporter, they do buy stuffs I want like eggs, veggies, fiberous bread and so on.I guess technically, they do support me. :D

I have a friend that always used to say that her baking is without fat:D:D
It worked if you really wanted to eat it, you just believed her.

Nobody, except an internet friend that helped me, but hes on the other side of the world, so yeah. I don'r really need anybody, not like they ugnna follow me around all day telling me to exercise and not eat stuff
