Do you ever work out even when you shouldn't?

I recently had pain in my wrist. I knew I should probably rest it and take the rest of the week off from the gym, but what did I do? soaked it in epsom salt solution, taped it up and lifted anyway. Once I sprained my ankle and only missed 2 days of cardio.

I'm an addict, I need help!

Seriously, I love the endorphin rush from working out. I literally get depressed if I have to take time off.

Once you're addicted to the work out it is really hard to stop. I get anxiety about stopping my work outs for more than 3 days.

Yep, I always end up training through injury, I'm a very impatient person so I can never wait for things to heal

I hate missing work outs but I try to take a week off every two months or so. I always do somehting else I love to do instead of working out so it seems like a reward.

I have worked out before when I wasn't feeling well. I always try to do something when I am injured so I don't feel like a slug

I think everyone has done it. Sometimes it can be a great workout. Other times it can be a real mistake (like bringing on a worse injury!)

The guys at my gym always have this advice for people with little injuries 'Take 800 milligrams of ibuprofen twice a day...put ice on it...and keep working out - YOU'LL FEEL BETTER'

So far I have been able to adapt around any little injuries and I've only skipped the gym for illness when I was actually throwing up.

I am in such a routine that I am a little afraid to get out of it so I just go and hope things work out - and so far, I always do feel better afterwards.

The thing is most NSAIDs interfere with protein synthesis, so unless you're really gonna man up and really take the pain you're much better off passing.

The worst scenario I've had is just making myself chronically late to work

Or putting training in front of things I should be doing instead. I've had lots of little aches and pains but they were never serious or didn't hurt enough for me to care/remember.

I get really pissy if work and school keep me from the gym for more than three days in a row. I just get to the point that I can't think about anything other than lifting.

Yeah, I'm weird about medicine anyway. I won't take anything unless I'm practically dying. I haven't taken anything for my wrist. I'm debating taking next week off from the weights
