do i do 500 calories less than my bmr or active bmr?

i just need to know ...
for fat loss do i lower calories 500 less than my normal bmr ?
or do i lower it 500 from my active metabolic rate ?

my bmr is around 2000
so id eat 1500 on a non active day ....
but say i did a 5mile jog and burn 500 calories ...
boosting my active bmr to about 2500-2600 .. would i then eat 2100-2200 calories that day ...
that way i can exercise to boost my metabolism and also eat more to boost my metabolism more ...
and also help prevent muscle loss.

is this correct?
