Disfunctional training?

I am new here,

My name is Greg

and I have had trainers before and been on everything from vitamins to steroids to anabolics...

The problem I am having is that I just cant keep in shape. (i have done probably close to 1000 ab sit-ups/crunches a week and weight trained)

I can not seem to get muscle nor loose m mid section for the life of me..

My build is husky, but trim shaped. I go to the gym every other day to every 2nd day max. (3-4 times a week) I work everything on different days.

I have done these work outs before and tried almost everything but cant keep the muscle and fat off.

Currently I am 210 pound. and its almost like I have sculpted fat?

bicepts arent really getting bigger...My job consists of lots of movement on cement and around cars..

I just cant understand whats going on

Btw: my diet consists of a normal breakfast like and orange juice, bagel or flat bread sandwich. lunch is a small chicken wrap and fuze slenderize drink, and dinner is anything boneless skinless chicken and some type of salad or vegetable...I dont drink nor do I smoke..

I can run for the life of me...am i just a lost cause?

Thanks for reading and thanks for the answers--Greg

there is nothing wrong with you. You are not special. Lose that mentality asap.

If you cannot hold onto muscle and cannot keep fat off then you have a problem with your workout program and nutrition, simple as that. Also, having a positive mindset and setting goals is more important than you think.

From your description of your diet it is immediately obvious that you are not eating enough calories. Try counting your calories for at least a week just to get a better idea of how much food you need in a day. You need well over 2000 kcal, and I doubt you are near that. Eating more does not equal weight gain or fat gain; in fact, it can be just the opposite.

Eat lots of lean protein, a moderate amount of fats (best be healthy ones like nuts) and some complex carbs. Stop drinking things like fruit juices and start drinking water. Stop eating peas and carrots and start eating broccoli and cauliflower and asparagus. Stop having a bagel for breakfast and start having oatmeal, etc, etc, etc. Take a look at the nutrition forum for all the information you need for a health diet.

Next, you need to let us know some more specifics. Age, Height, etc. We need to know your workout routine in order to give you any advice on it, but as an easy general suggestion, make sure you are doing lots of compound lifts, working out every other day or so. Be sure to do cardio in between workout days in order to use up that fat!

Hope that helps, more information will warrant more advice.
