Dip Stations?

Does anyone know an effective way to make a dip station. Ive looked online, and the things are pretty expensive just for two bars. I found one for 50 bucks, but is it really worth it? Are pushups just as effective as dips?

Anywhere dip station...

If you have good sturdy ceiling studs in a garage or basement go for rings instead.

If want real cheap get out two chairs and try single leg variations.

All kinds of way you can go, in the end though it is a solid movement.

If you have 2 benches or a bench and a chair, do bench dips.

I had the same idea as you for a pullup bar. I bolted two short pieces of 2x4 to the joists in my basement, drilled large holes through them and put a length of 1 inch pipe through them. It works, but looks kinda ghetto. I'm trying to think up a better way

LOL woodt :D

yea i had a thread showin my dip stand b4. check her out:

you can see all the materials you need right there. it works really well. cost me $0.02

that is unique protein boy, i do have the materials to make that. Are the bars the same height as eachother? And how far did you space them.

yea the bars are actually almost the exact same height. and i just spaced them so that i have just enough room to do the dips without any annoyance. the closer the ladders are to eachother, the more stable i think it is. you can put 45 plates on both latters. thats what i do.
