digestion and metabolism

It is so difficult to be on a strict diet again after christmas. At least for me it is :) So I just thought about the digestion and the metabolism. Do you know if there is a possibility to speed of these processes? I think losing weight might be much easier then, right?

Yea, you aren't going to speed up your metabolism by an appreciable amounts.

The best you can do is exercise and eat the right foods, but even then.... bmr isn't going to change drastically.

Really strict diets don't work for the majority of people any time of the year...

What is your food plan like? what's so strict about it? Make some modifications to it so that you can follow it

Increase Muscle Mass To Burn More Calories

Jane,

One thing you can do is build muscle mass. If you increase your muscle mass you burn more calories even when you're not doing anything. Of course any exercise you can do will help.

How do you supposed someone gains enough muscle to make a difference in metabolic rate when they are DIETING?

I am trying to lose weight by a very new kind of diet (at least it was new to me :) ) So in the morning I eat only carbohydrates and no proteins. For lunch I am allowed to have both and in the evening I eat nothing but proteins. And between the meals you are not allowed to eat anthing for five hours.

How's your diet working to control your eating? What is the basis for the different types of meals and the not eating between 5 hours?

Honestly, that would drive me bananas - I don't think I could do that even for a day.

Are you finding that you enjoy it? Is it something that will work for you long-term?
