Different types of diets...

I've been sticking to a low-fat/low-cal diet for the past 3 1/2 weeks. I've been very strict on it too! I haven't cheated once! I'm so proud of myself, but now I'm starting to get kind of tempted by other foods which I wasn't tempted by earlier in the diet so I'm wanting to shake things up or something. Since I started the diet I've lost about 9.5-10 lbs. I exercise everyday for 30-60 min. so I'm doing what I should as far as that goes. I've got about 5-5.5 lbs. to go now, and I want to lose those last lbs. as quickly as possible.

Any tips or ideas to make this last hurdle easier? Even if it's a different diet plan I'm willing to give it a try. Also, can any of you tell me if Body for Life, The 3 Hour Diet, or any other diet out there might be a better approach? I'm just ready to get these last lbs. off NOW! I feel like the weight loss has been slowing down lately so maybe I need a change. TIPS ANYONE????

Something that worked for me is meat/protein 'cycling'. If you've been eating lean beef or poultry so far, do one week where all you eat is fish as your only meat source. It works.

In a week where I eat salmon as my only meat/protein source, I have consistently lost anywhere between 3-7 pounds that week. But the thing is, it wears off after the first week so I go back to poultry for a week, then back to fish. Keep in mind everything else I eat besides these lean meats are vegetables, no carbs.

Yeah, I definitely won't be trying that then because I have to have my carbs. haha. I've tried doing low-carb before, but I ended up feeling miserable the whole time I'm on it. I don't know why, but something in me changes while on it. Plus when I was on it I ended up getting sick (not related), and the doctor had to do some tests on me, and it turned out the low-carb had lowered my blood sugar too much. I don't know, but I refuse to do it again. Thanks for the help anyway!!

You can still try it, you may not lose weight as fast thats all. Eating carbs with your diet is probably a healthier way to do it anyways. I don't eat carbs to lose weight faster.

Are you never going to eat carbs? Or just temporarily? I hear so much about how not eating carbs causes more weight gain when u falter or reintroduce them...

Well, I know you weren't asking me, but when I did low-carbs I actually didn't gain any of the weight back. However, I don't think that's the norm. I worked to keep it off by eating healthy, but I'm sure if I hadn't of I would have gained it all back.

Any feedback is good Motsy :) ur the first person whose said they didnt gain the weight back ...theres hope yet for the rest of us!!! yay!:p

I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. My first priority is to get down to an ideal weight. Then my diet will change, I'm not exactly sure how just yet.

Fatass.... (that sounds so ugly, but sorry, I don't know your name)....

as long as you don't go crazy introducing carbs in to your diet, you will be fine and not gain it back....

Yeah... I don't really miss them that much anyways. But I did nibble a tiny sliver of bread the other day, and it tasted SO good lol
