Hey all! :waving:

I just found this forum and decided to forgo my usual months long lurking of a forum and just join! :)

My basic background info:
I'm Nadia, I'm 21 and 5'2" and weigh about 135. I joined this site to help with motivation and getting healthy for the most part, and also because the last 20 or so pounds are just clinging on for dear life! ;)
I've been overweight as long as I can remember (thanks to parents who rewarded with food, bad genes, and hormone issues), and after a brief bout of anorexia at 15, I settled on the 1250-1300 calorie a day diet that I've been off and on since (five small meals a day).
In the six years I've been consciously dieting, I've lost about 25lbs (which is a ridiculously small amount IMO) from my all time high of 160.
The reason it took such a long time is just pure laziness. Until last year I was leading a very inactive lifestyle and binging on fast food quite a bit.

I joined a gym last June and have since found weight loss to be a lot easier, lol. ;)

I can already tell there is a huge wealth of information and support on this site, and I can't wait to spend hours a day filling my brains with goodness. :cheers2:

Hey!
Welcome to the site!!

I look forward to seeing you around! And you're right, this site has lots of information! There's also lots of people on here that are willing to help, give tips/advice, and motivate the community! it's a great place!!

Oh I can totally relate.. The only difference is when I was about your age, I got pregnant with my now-2-year-old, and my weight has become a much *ahem* LARGER problem since then. I resist exercising personally. It's like I have a total mental block, I can't even get up the energy to get myself to the gym or outside for a walk/jog or set up the exercise DVD with the mat and the weights. It's so sad! Good luck on your journey!

I have such a huge problem with motivation, too! It got easier to keep exercising once I started seeing results (and then I stopped seeing results and stopped exercising again, haha). I'm at the point where I have to get myself to where I like how my body looks, otherwise I can tell I won't be completely happy with my life. :/ And there is no time for wasting time. ;)
