Diet?

I have tried so many "fad" diets, cutting out this or that, eating grapefruits, cabbage broth, counting calories, counting carbs, no fat/low fat...

I read a book years ago that just made sense to me. I cannot remember for the life of me what it was called but basically, it's about eating when you are hungry, stopping when you are no longer hungry (ie: not stopping when full)...nothing is forbidden, it's all about portion control and balance.

This is what I have been doing for the last 6 months along with exercise and drinking water, and I have lost over 75 pounds.

been there done that

for one congradulations on the weight loss. but i think we have all been there and done that fade diet thing. i myself love food and i have figured out that it is my enemy just like drugs or drinking would be to some one else. and if i go on a diet i am to hard on myself and fail. so i decied to do what you did eat when i am hungry, and stop when i am not. i avoid alot of tempation by drinking a bottle of water just so i can be full. so far this is working and if i mess up i am not so hard on myself.

Congrat's on your loss!! I think I know what book you are referring to. Its called "the weight down diet" by gwen shamblin. I love it!

How do you find the willpower and self-control to stop when you're just not hungry anymore? I never seem to even realize when that moment happens.

That's what I do right now. I stop myself when I can feel myself getting full. And I snack a little more often on healthier foods so that I'm not feeling really really hungry at the end of the day.
