Diet Suggestions?

I've been reading this thread for a few months now ... its the best one i've found online ... can yall make some suggestions for my diet to loose weight and be healthier? I workout on the elliptical for 1 hr, 4 days a week (trying to make it up to 6 days) it burns 700 calories. I'm not sure i'm eating enough according to what yall have posted ... but i do drink beer on fri night and sat night :( I could maybe add some eggs and toast for breakfast .. but i dont like egg whites but egg beaters are good but i think someone said those arent healthy ... also, someone once posted to get rid of the tomatoes- are they bad for you?

Breakfast: Yogurt
Snack: Apple
Lunch: Turkey or Chicken sandwich (lettuce, 2 pieces bread, tomato)
Snack: Banana
Snack: small caesar salad (70 cal dressing)
Dinner: Grilled Chicken, one steamed potato, steamed brocolli

Thanks for any suggestions ... sorry for a similar posting to so many other people!!

I have no idea why the tomato would be bad, especially if it's just a slice.

All 3 snacks are lacking protein. You want protein and carbs at every meal. Protein is how your body builds muscle. the more muslce you have, the more calories you burn to maintain that muscle.

You're also low on complex carbs, and fiber. add a bowl of oatmeal to breakfast at the very least.

You don't have to just stick to egg whites either...just limit yolks. I use 5 eggs for breakfast right now, but only 2 yolks. This has more flavor, gives the eggs a natural consistency, and it limits the fat/cholesterol intake.

Any ideas on how to add protein? I do not like meat or tofu :( Are there any good (low cal) protein bars i could eat maybe?

Is there a special type of oatmeal ... is instant ok? What about adding a piece of whole wheat toast for breakfast would that be enough extra?

Thanks for you help! :)
