Diet Plan?

Hi There

Just want to say first of all hi to everyone on the forum - I think it's really great and have found it really helpful.

Anyway my aim I want to lose some body fat and turn it into muscle - I have noticed that you need to eat 5-6 meals evenly spaced throughout the day.

This is my diet plan:

Meal 1 (7:30am) Whey Protein Shake

Meal 2 (10:30am) Can of tuna

Meal 3 (12:30pm) 2 x Chicken Breast with salad

Meal 4 (3:30pm) Can of sardines

Meal 5 (6:30pm) 1 x pork chop 2 x egg whites and vegetables

Meal 6 (10:00pm) Whey protein shake

Could this plan be improved? Do I have a lack of carbs in this diet plan, if so how much grams of carbs do i need to eat and how much water to drink?

Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Thanks!

the last meal of the day will not sustain you through the night. look towards casein protein (milk, cottage cheese) and some healthy fats (natty pb)

a whey shake shouldnt be looked at as a meal replacement for breakfast. can you eat something at this time, like some oatmeal or eggs?

Looks almost like an Adkins diet plan to me. You still need carbs in your diet even if you are attempting to lose fat. There are still good carbs out there that your body needs
Whole grain cereals
raw fruit (berries)
raw vegetables
oatmeal

Your body still needs these as a form of energy. If you are doing resistance training along with cardio you will need these foods for energy to work to your potential.

Also, I agree with abear. Protein shakes should not be meal replacements. However, protein shakes can be taken at night, and actually I highly recommend taking a protein shake before bed. This is the time I would consume a slow-acting protein shake, however (not whey).
