Diet\fat loss, taking a break?

I've been lifting and exercising for a few years now. Pretty much all last year I was lifting heavy and eating pretty well, I grew stronger and bigger but I wanted my muscles to show more, so I started dieting. My body has transformed a lot. In October I set a goal date of Feb 15 and a number I wanted to get to. I came very very close, within 2lbs of my goal and lost about 25lbs of fat. The thing is my body and mind feel like I need a break from dieting, I feel great, I look way better than before, I just feel like my body is craving food and I lost a lot less weight in the last 4 weeks of dieting than in the first 3 months. Four months was too long for me, but I was happy I tried it.

Anyway, my point is that I want to diet again soon, how long of a break do you most of you take before you go back to cutting? Is it different for everyone? I know it s good to let the body rest here and there from heavy lifting, but what about dieting? Anyway, what do you guys and girls think?

Thank you for you opinions.

Not a single response? Let me simplify my question.

Does anyone here diet for 3 months, then take a break? If yes, how long is your break?

Thanks

hey man i think the whole "break" thing is different for everyone. People usually tend to diet when they wanna get rid of the fat. Some people do the cutting bulking phase. If you don't want to bulk, than cut til your happy, and if you gain some of it back, than cut again lol. I do the cutting and bulking, so i'm never really stopping. But like I said cutting can maybe be somewhat stressful if your not used to it and a break is a good thing. I wouldnt suggest taking a wholeee break and eating ur face off every single day. Moderation is key.

When you say you want to take a "break" what exactly do you mean? You could easily back off from the workouts a bit, not be a strict with following an eating plan, but make sure to still keep track of your weight, waist measurements, etc to not let it get out of control.

I'm not talking about eating like crap for a few weeks, i'm talking about adding more carbs back to my diet and adding more calories back too. I always keep track of certain things , not my weight so much , but more of my BF%. I dont want to go into a three week binge, just go back to maintaince for a few weeks then get back into fat loss.

Try it out and see how it goes. 3 weeks isn't that long so it would be hard to imagine that you'd get completely off track with that "time off."

When i say break, i mean, going back to maintaince eating.

i'm not planning of getting off track, i think i'm having a hard time explaining myself, but know know when you start a diet those first few weeks are always great, for me i had about 10-12 weeks where i was losing about 1 to 1.5lbs a week. then the dieting produced less and less results. I want to take the break so that i can jump start the dieting when i get back in to it. Anyway, in the last 2 weeks i've added more carbs, more calories, feel bettter and have only gained 1lb, i was suprised to gain so little.

Does anyone take a break and for how long is it?
