So I have 3 diets I am looking at. I need serious help trying to figure out which I should do. Just an FYI, I need simple. If things are complicated, I quit. So the easier the diet, the better. I feel someone needs to tell me what to eat or drink and when. Then I can follow it. So I need suggestions.
Optifast - I tried this a couple years ago and lost weight on it but it got too expensive for me. It's 800 calories per day. You consume 5 things that are 160 calories a piece. You can do their shakes, their bars or their soups. But that's all you can have. You have to go and get blood work done every 2 weeks. You have to see a doctor and dietician every week to check your symptoms and get support. The cost is $393 per month for the products since insurance does not cover. This is as simple as it gets. You are told what to have and when during the day.
Optavia - I have not tried this but my co-workers mother and uncle lost a considerable amount of weight on this. You buy a "kit" from them that has "fuelings" included. You eat 5 of these fuelings per day and then you have a lean meal (small piece of chicken and a non-starch veggie). The calories around roughly 1100 including the fuelings and your meal. So in essence, you eat 6 times a day. The kit includes, bars, mac n cheese, soup, etc. The price for the kit only is roughly $356-392 per month. No doctors appointments and no blood work.
ProNourish - This is just a bottled shake that is 170 calories. It's gluten free and safe for people with lactose intolerance. I do have a lactose sensitivity. This really isn't a diet plan, this is just a pack of meal replacements. My dietician stated that when she told me about ProNourish, she didn't recommend it for any sort of daily meal replacement. She said that she only thought I could replace one meal a day or use it as a snack. The calories, if I drank 5 per day, would be 850. The price on Amazon for 30 days worth, is $290.
I need to lose weight. Plain and simple. I have plenty of other issues going on that could benefit from me losing. If cost didn't matter in this situation, which would you choose? Again, I am picky, I need simple. Or else I slip and fail. Please help me make a decision!
