Diastasis Recti excersises?

Hi there everyone. I'm new to this forum and have a question to those with any knowledge or experience with Diastasis Recti. I had three pregnancies back to back and durning my third I developed this common condition. My stomache muscles are still strong but there is a two to three inch gap between the muscles. My dr told me it would grow back together by 6 months. My son is 9 months old and I still have it. She did tell me I can not do normal situps as this will train these particular muscles to stay in this position. WHAT CAN I DO???? Are there any techniques anyone knows of? I don't want to damage my stomache and certainly don't want surgery but I look 5 months pregnant! Thanks so much!
