Hi all

I joined these forums back in 2007 and loved reading the inspirational storied and looking at before and after pics.. I lost weight , I gymed but I ran too much on the threadmill and screwed up my knee (I never used to warm up or cool down)

I need to to see an orthopedic and was diagnosed with chondromalacia.I stopped exercising completely..was on medication for 6 months.

I just started working out again and this 2010 I want to be fit and healthy.I am still worried about my knee .I just started working out on the efx and not the threadmill for the past 5 days :)

ps : I am 129.8 lbs right now and 5"3 tall. My goal is to be 118-119 lbs.

Welcome back from a newer member :)

I'm sorry about your knee. I'm glad that you are still wanting to push forward rather than use it as an excuse,

Sorry to hear about your knee...I would suggest walking on the treadmill and placing it on an incline(try 60 and work your way up to 90 degrees)....set the speed to your own desire (I usually put it at 3.5)...My knees aren't the greatest either, but I know of a freind who had both of his knees blown when playing soccer (last summer) and is currently using the treadmill (on an incline) to do his cardio... try that... ;)

plus, at an incline you burn just as much calories(or close to) as if you were jogging....

let us know how you do.... ;)

What exactly happened to your knee? I had a hole punctured in my miniscus and 2 bone bruises from attempting to street luge lol, thats what stopped my initial weight loss, and I went back up in weight, recently gotten back down around where I want to be. Idk about your injury but I still favor mine, but I don't baby it, it healed up well and I feel confident running on a treadmill.
