Hi, I am just starting out on this weight loss journey. This is not the 1st time I've been on this journey either. Thanks to M2M for all her help in getting me started. I can eat 1256 calories a day to lose 2 lbs a week. This is what I've eaten so far today. I will be attending a weight lifting class at the gym later.

Breakfast
1/2 cup low fat vanilla yogurt-100, 1 banana-105, 1/2 mixed fruit -50

Lunch - it was yummy too.
In & Out Burger-500, Fries-200

Dinner
Looks like a light dinner tonight - 300 calories.

There's no better time then the present to start this journey! You are such an amazing, beautiful, dedicated, strong woman, that there is no doubt in my mind that you'll reach your goals!

I just wanted to mention that the equation to get you your daily average calories for the day is just that, an average - so in time, you'll work out exactly what your intake needs are :D

Did you end up having salmon last night?

I'm heading out now to walk (I'm going to wear the tennis shoes and see if that's what is effecting my toes).

I won't be at the pool today, this is Bob's day to take M to practice, so I hope your day goes well :D
 
Whenever you want to post your daily food, activities, etc., this is the "thread" to do it in :) This way, you can always go back through your diary and see how you've done.

And why aren't you at the pool?

Thanks everyone who wrote to me on my first day. I appreciate your encouraging words.

Today I went to the beach and packed a light, low calorie lunch. You all would be so proud of me.

This is what I have eaten so far today.

Breakfast
1/2 c yogurt - 100
1 c fruit - 50

Snack
med banana - 100

Lunch
cherry tomatoes - 50
2 cups fruit - 100

Snack
salmon - 50
cherry tomatoes - 20

My grand total is 470 cals. I have 786 cals to eat for the rest of the day. Having seared ahi for dinner with a yummy salad, but going to the movies and eating popcorn is my big down fall. Can I make it through the movie without pigging out on popcorn ? Yes, I can!! I'll let you know how I did.

Thanks for setting me straight on the diary thing Deb. OK, I just packed up 2 cups of Honey Nut Cherrios for a total of 240 sweet, crunchy calories. No popcorn for me. For dinner I had

3 oz portion of fish - 120 c
1/2 c boiled potato - 100 c
1 cup califower - 50 c

Total of 270 + 470 = 740

Yeah! One day down, ? to go

oops I forgot to add in my 240 sweet, crunchies.

Total = 980 Calories for the day
 
Hey Denise,
You might want to add another 200 calories somewhere - you don't want to go too low otherwise your body will go into starvation mode - or if you keep it at 980, just don't do it too many times in a week!

980....not bad. I dont know your weight but it sounds a little low to me as well. at first you think the lower the better, then you notice you still lose and even feel better with a few more calories. Find out how many calories got you to the weight your at and then go from there. good luck.......
 
OK, so I get home and read my mail and have a wee bit of ice cream. I am sure I've met my calorie needs for the day (it was really good). I was a little hungry and now I am satisfied.

Oh lee - that is a nice calorie calculator - I hadn't seen it.
I wasn't sure where to place my excercise - I walk every day, but I don't consider it *hard* walking, I mean, if I were to run, or power, swivel butt walk, then I'd think it was the hard option, but it based my calories, at excercising at 2900+ the medium excercise puts me at 2600, which is closer to what my projection has been.

Denise, what movie did you see?
 
We saw Monster House for the 2nd time (well it was the 2nd time for C. & I).

OK, I am going to try to get that August ticker on my thread.

4 mile walk
Hi all,

Walked with my friend Latha this morning. 4.0 miles in 75 minutes. We are hoping to get the time down to about 65 minutes. I need to look up how many cals that burns.

Last night went to friends for dinner. I did great on the eating part but had 2 large glasses of wine so that put me over. I consumed about 1500 calories.

Sorry, I couldn't join you at the beach M2M. I didn't sleep well and with our busy schedule today, I just couldn't do it. Way too tired for anything:( .

Hey Deb,

I slept great. Took my little pill and it was off to "la la land" for me. Feel good today too. Not walking but going to the gym this morning. Also getting ready for our little vacation.

Thanks again for the walk. I get my excercise and social fix all at the same time - it's great.

Did you download the CD? I'll see you tomorrow at swimming. Do you want to walk? What time will you be there?
