I am new here. I have been surfing looking for tips on how to lose weight. I tried all i could but my scale still won't budge. Is there anybody out there who can really help me. Please! I am classified as Obese Class I. I weigh 181 lbs. and my height is 5'7". I am tired of the way people treat me just because I am fat.

I'll tell you what I've tried and that works, but its not easy! I am struggling to come to terms with the diet myself right now, maybe b/c its christmas, and I'd rather just pork out, but anywho...it does work....ONLY EAT WHEN YOUR HUNGRY!! Thats it. When you wake up, you'll want to have breakfast. But ask yourself, am I hungry?? Not deppressed, not happy, HUNGRY. Then, if your hungry, go ahead and eat what you want, but only eat till your satified (no,not stuffed, satified) Same for the rest of the day. You may or may not loose weight faster than other diets, but this is a "diet" you will use the rest of your life. The weight will stay off.

Hello welcome to the forum,

Dont loose hope and most of all dont get depressed over your weight, I too have a large amount to loose, but regardless of the amount we all have the same goal. If you have really tried "everything" and you dont loose anything, go have a check up at your Doctors, make sure the thyroid, blood sugar, hormones (and whatever else they check) is all where they should be.
But when we say we have tried everything,..chances are its everything we are knowledgable about and there is often more out there for us to try.
Make use of the journal, write down all that you eat, and all the excersize that you are doing, as the people here can help you modify what you are doing to hopefully get some results. There are no magic answer other than making a committment to yourself and sticking to it. We hope to hear more from you!

Hi welcome,

I'm new here myself. I have lost weight in the past. Lately I've put some weight on and I am trying to take off some more. I too am obese and I also find it hard to move the scale in the downword direction. But I have found if I just eat small meals throught the day it helps. Also getting in some sort of exercise helps a lot and I feel much better when I do. I have also found not to be down on myself when I have a bad day or a bad week just to get right back on track and keep trying. It can be hard but I know I can do it and you can too. Just thought I'd let you know what works for me. But you might have to try something different that works for you. Good luck. Hope to hear from you more.

HI there,

welcome to the forum:)
I can only agree with the posts ahead. It won't be easy, but it will be worth it. It all comes down to will-power. If you keep us posted, we will try and keep you motivated. There is a way out there for you, you just have to find it. Everybody is different, and we all have to find our way, but stick with us and we will try to help you and keep you on track. We won't be skimpy on the praise either, when you are doing really good - that's what usually helps the most, right?!:)

Okay here's what worked for me, I like telling people about this because it really works. For breakfast I eat two eggs and fruit, or Total cereal with soy milk. For lunch I eat a tuna fish sandwich or turkey, with lettuce and tomato, and veggies on the side. For snacks I eat fruit or low fat yogurt. For dinner I eat veggies, one potato, and chicken or fish. Drink water.
*If you eat fruit or veggies with lean protein your metabolism will speed up, and excercising will speed it up even further.
*After you lose what you want, you must continue this diet 6 days out of the week and on one day, any day you can eat what you want.
I did this for about 10 weeks and I went from 176 to 135. I have went up ten pounds since then with increased excercise, muscle weight. But I am proud to say that I am at my healthy weight. Good luck!

...sounds like you are going through exactly what I am. I hit a spot on the scale and it has not budged for months. If you don't mind me asking how old are you and what type diets you have already tried--It would be great if we could jump over this hurdle together :)
