Well,I have been on my healthy lifestyle change (refuse to call it another "diet") for two weeks now. I am so far down 10 pounds (last time I checked two days ago), and got into a pair of pants I have NEVER been able to get into. I wear scrubs to work every day,and last year when I started I bought one pair of 2x w/out trying them on. I got home and they didn't fit. I refused to take them back because I just knew I was going to fit into them one day. So, I went back and bought a couple of 3x's instead.

Well....this evening I got the ones out I bought last year and they FIT. Every time I have tried them on to see if they would fit, they were too tight to pull up over my hips, or fit a bit too snug when standing and then be very tight when I sat. So tight when I sat that I was afraid they would to SPLLLLLLLLLIT. Even sat down with them on tonight and they were just right. I am so proud of myself!!! Looking forward to the day when my 2x's are too big to wear, and they are just a memory.

Well, I am on day 15 of my weight loss journey and stepped on the sale this morning to see I have lost yet another 3 pounds. In total I have lost 14 pounds, and down one pant size on my scrub pants. I don't wear jeans (YET) so I am not even sure what size in jeans I wear. (HA) I feel better, and have gotten remarks from friends that I look thinner. I'm looking forward to the "new" me. :) Even have a friend of mine eating better now. She said I have inspired her to get on the ball. Not only that...but she doesn't want me to lose weight faster than her. (LOL...she is a nut) ;)

wow delielah! Good going on the loss! What are you doing to lose the weight? Dieting and exercising?

I've been at this for abt. 6 weeks and I've only lost 7 lbs. and I'm exercising my butt off.

Well, congrats on the loss and I hope to see you around. ;)

Congratulations on your terrific loss! How are you doing it? People on this forum use lots of different methods, so long as they are healthy.

I hear you on not wanting to buy yet another LARGER pair of pants! GRRR!:banghead: Sounds like it might have been just the kick you needed to start your journey. Doesn't it feel phenom to see the scale going down, for a change? ;)

I work at a hospital, so can relate to the scrubs deal. Nothin' like having them just a liiiiiittle too tight, then wondering if today is the day they are going to split! :svengo:

All the best on your journey. Post some pics to inspire yourself (and others!) and get yourself a ticker to make tracking your losses even more fun!

Cheers!

Thanks for the replies and the words of encouragement. I got the courage to put a ticker up and allow y'all too see how much I started out a couple weeks ago. I have to admit...it's embarrassing to see those numbers up there. However...I am glad the numbers are going down.

I am watching what I eat. Not eating out like we use to. If we have to make a trip to a fast food place I get a salad instead of a burger and fries. I drink way more water than I ever did. My portions on my plate are smaller. Instead of using a dinner plate I use a salad plate, and I do not go back for seconds. When I'm done with my first plate...I'm DONE. We do walk when the weather permits. If it's too yucky outside I do some exercises in the house.

I want to lose more weight than what I have on my ticker. Right now 220 is my target weight. Then when I'm there, I will set another. When I think of how much I need to lose to be at the right weight for me....it's overwhelming. So I am setting smaller goals for myself for now.

I will post pictures possibly when I have more courage to do so. Hopefully when I get some more of this weight off. For now...I am not comfortable with doing that. Thanks again for the support. Glad I found this website.

Well, stepped on the scale again today and have lost three more pounds. I am now down 17 pounds in 16 days. I am so excited and proud of myself for keeping up with this. Tonight is going to be difficult though. Fridays are usually our "takeout" nights. A quick run to the McDonald's or Burger King. Not tonight...we are eating our leftovers (healthier than the fast food places) so I still don't have to actually get in the kitchen and cook. The people I work for have been telling me they have noticed a difference. I am so proud of myself. I just gotta keep it up!!!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!

Obviously all the hard work is paying off, and it's always nice to hear positive feedback from people, so the comments from your work colleagues must have been great.

Congrats on your loss.. but it almost seems like too much. You should try tracking your cals on fitday.com so that you make sure you get ENOUGH. You want to be able to maintain a weight, not just get to a goal and bounce back.

I know it seems like alot...but for a person of my size it really isn't. I'm sure it's a bunch of water weight I am taking off. My foot is not swollen as it use to be. Amazing how much weight water can add to a person. My foot use to always be swollen. I don't eat the sodium or drink the sodas like I use to. I'm still eating....I'm not staving myself. I am just eating in moderation and NOT eating my usual fast foods for breakfast.lunch,dinner. As a matter of fact, I feel like I am actually eating more than I use to. Just when I go get something to eat I pick up a better choice instead of junk. :) Thanks for the concern.

It is so nice to have my clothes fitting loosely on me these days instead of tight. My wedding ring is starting to slide around my finger too. Gonna wait til I get to my goal weight to get it resized.

Another week has gone by, and yet another week I am getting closer to my first goal. I stepped on the sale today and down another 3 pounds.:hurray: It's amazing what 23 pounds gone can do for a person. I have more energy than I did a month ago, and more confidence in myself. I am looking forward to living my life leaner and healthier.
