What Fil said. Now here is my opinion on how to achieve that...

CARDIO: Do 3 or 4 days of cardio for 30-45 minutes per day. When you do your cardio, keep your heart rate up. Do you cardio via running, elliptical, swimming, etc.

NUTRITION: Eat 6 - 8 smaller, healthier meals every day. Remove trans fatty acids and shoot for 50-60 % carbs / 20-30% fats / 15-25% protein for your daily intake. Measure your weight and fat % weekly and adjust your diet accordingly.

WATER: Drink 1 - 1.5 gallons of water EVERY day. And, I should say that you shouldn't do this at one sitting. It is best to think of it as 8oz. no more often than 30 minutes (unless you are working out).

Decide on your outcome, design your plan, set goals, and follow through!

We will be with you all the way!

Good luck,
Rip

good advice, but i would reccomend a higher percentage of protein in your meal plan.. around 1gram per lb

ok

thx but i have a couple more questions on that

What are transfatty acids???
how much am i supposed to put in to meals calories or grams??
how do i calculate all this???
at what times am i supposed to eat, i am still in school(16).
:p ;) :D

cerebrus, trans fatty acids are death. they arent required to be put in the nutrtion label yet, so just look in the ingredients. if it has partially hydrogenated (anything), then i wouldnt eat it. limit your saturated fats, unlike me who eats steaks, and unlean hamburgers on almost a daily basis. i get my good fats too!

as for when are you supposed to eat, if your in school 8 hours a day. try to eat 6-7 equally caloric dishes. about 250-300 calories. try to eat every 2-2 1/2 hours. the reason for this being, that this will keep your metabolism up. and when adding protein into your meal, look at calories as well as amount of protein. try to do about 25-35g of protein with every meal.

you guys also said that i should drink 1 to 1.1.5 gallons of water a day is that even humanly possible?
that is like 6.6 liters.
but thx for the advice any way il try to implement ti ;) :p

When I was in high school, I had 2 classes, a break, two classes, lunch, two classes, then school's out. Notice how they're 2 hours apart?

So eat a regular meal for breakfast (you need the energy), a small meal for snack (first break), a small meal for lunch, a small meal when you get home, and then another meal every 2-3 hours thereafter until bedtime.

It's a good idea to stay away from simpler carbs after lunch, since those are going to be converted into energy that you won't need as your day winds down. So, mainly stay away from breads, grains, and sugars as you approach bedtime, and get more complex, fibrous carbs from green vegetables. These will be absorbed more slowly and won't keep you up at night (and since they won't be under-utilized like sugars would, they won't end up "converting" into fats).

Some days I drink 2 gallons of water. The only serious thing to avoid is hypernatremia (sp?). Essentially this occurs when you sweat all of the salt out of your body. This happens because you drink too much water at one time.

Avoid drinking the 1 gallon at one sitting.

It is easier than you think to drink a gallon of water per day.

Peek this: if you drank 8 oz each hour, it would only take 16 hours to drink a gallon of water. So, if you drink 8 oz each half-hour you can figure it out...

A gallon seems like a lot, but they recommend 8 x 8 oz glasses...and that's nothing really. Like everyone mentioned, as long as it's not at one sitting, youre fine; a glass per every 2 hours is sufficient and very reasonable...once you learn what a glass really is, youre fine, everyone thinks it's a big glass but it's really small. Hard to explain.
