I left the Army at about 235 in January, and I weighed myself at the gym in clothes no shoes at 247 today. Higher than I thought, though I swear they add weights to make people feel bad about themselves. I'm going to weigh myself on the same scale every Friday morning. My goal is to get down to 210 by the second week of July. I'm hoping that my low-cal diet will hold up. I'm also using Hydroxicut. I know people say that it isn't necessary, but I have a lot of trouble controlling my portions, and it is really helping to suppress my appetite. I'm eating 6 small meals a day. Actually, I had a tuna sandwich for lunch (Lite Miracle Whip instead of mayo). I used a whole can of tuna, and by the end I felt like I had eaten too much at a buffet, so it's definitely working for me there. I'm using a low fat protein shake in place of one of the meals and taking a daily multivitamin. I'll get back with all the info on my calories burned vs calories intaken.

Week 1

I've been a good boy and it seems to be working out. After 5 days, I've lost 5 lbs. Down from 247 to 242. I'll do an "official" weigh in Friday. I also learned that I need to buy smaller bags of lettuce because the big one I bought went bad. I'm used to just finishing off whatever I have rather than portion control, so that's just part of the adjustment.

My workouts were making me nauseous the first couple of days, mainly because my body wasn't used to working out without a lot of food in me, but I think it's starting to deal with it. It may have also been a side effect of the Hydroxycut.

I am really happy with my will power. I was concerned that I was just going to be grumpy with a rumbling tummy all day, but eating small meals throughout the day is actually making me feel better than when I would go on my old 7-11 Chili Dog binges. I actually feel like I'm going to be able to do it!
