Well guys... tomorrow (2nd jan) is the day it all starts for me. I'm back at work after the holidays and its the day I change my life.

I am hoping to use this diary as a record of how I am feeling, what I am eating, how my exercise plan is going etc... so for those of you who read... I hope you can relate to some of my thoughts.... and I hope to make some friends on my journey.

So... the questions I have asked myself are:

How much weight do you want to lose?

I want to loose approx 150lbs (given the fact I am currently 350 lbs) but know that this is not going to happen over night. I will be aiming for a loss of around 3llbs per week.

What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?

Two years ( I will be 35 then)

How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?
I am changing my lifestyle completely. I want to become healthy and not worry that my obesity is going to kill me.

I will be starting an excerise plan at a gym that I have a company membership of.

My aim is to loose weight steadily month by month.

Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?

I will rely on the support of family, friends and my online friends

How realistic is your goal?

I think my goal is realistic - given the fact that I am not expecting results in a couple of months.

When will you start?

The day I return to work following the Christmas and New Year holidays - january 2nd 2007. Its the start of my new life.

So... let the new life begin.:) :) :)

Welcome to the Forum
Alot of us here are low calorie but there are others around on different diets so you will fine some good support here no matter what diet plan you are following. Some here do their own thing so if one type a diet doesn't seem to work for you don't be afraid to tweak your diet abit....

you are 350 pounds at the moment so If you do the calories don't get on a 400 calorie diet. I tried that and I don't recommend it lol......
I will be aiming for a loss of around 3llbs per week

Thats a good goal but remember on weeks that fall to 2 or 1 or even none for that week, try not to get too discouraged. Thats my hobby lol..........

See ya around

Good
luck with the plan Debs - it looks very sensible top me. Make sure that you take all those statistics first - weight, BMI, photos, measurements etc. In two years time - no, even in three months time, you are going to see so many changes in yourself, so take a record of your starting point.

Gym membership is great, but if it doesn't work for you - or you want to try something else, consider starting a walking programme - thats also easy to carry on as part of your new lifestyle, even after losing the weight.

Happy New Year Debs!

ok - so today was the first day of my new way of life.

I was out of the house at 6:45am this morning and at the gym for 7am. I did 14 lenghts of swimming in the pool - which believe me for someone that never exercises is a big step.

I am not sure what was more daunting... the 14 lenghts of the pool or walking out in a bathing costume in front of other people.

Anyway... I did it.

I had a jacket potatoe, prawns and salad for lunch and am having pasta and ham this evening for dinner.

I am thinking of detoxing my body completely for a few days... what does anyone else think?

hiya deb,

i know im a bit late, but welcome to the forum, my name is actually debra, but i get called jane for no reason apart from that its my middle name lol, +im from the u.k too. Anyhoo, good luck. You can do this !!

Well its day 2 of my diet.

I kinda feel like I am talking to myself when I write this diary log out - in some way very theraputic!!

Today I didnt go to the gym. I feel as though if I go every day I will get bored of it and I dont want that.

Today for breakfast I had grilled bacon and two slices of bread.
Lunch consisted of chicken salad
Dinner was a ham sandwich with a packet of low fat crisps.

I have drunk so much water today I feel like my insides are floating - keep running to the toilet too which can only be a good thing... cant it???

Tonight my hubby is out helping his sister to move some furniture. I have had to come on the laptop now becase this is the time i feel as though i could nibble at anything we have in the kitchen cupboards and I know I shouldn't.

Well my friends, that is the entry for today.....still have not decided about the detoxing... i'll do some further research on it before the weekend when I will make up my mind.

Love to all you dieters out there!!!!:)
