Deadlifts

Can someone tell me (or have a video) the proper way to do this excerise? I have tried to avoid this one in the past because it deals with the back. I've pinnched a nerve in my back a few years back and I remember the pain that went along with it. So I have no intention of killing my back. I keeping hearing all of my buddies talk about the deadlift and I'm interested in how it works, and what does it work. Any help with this would be great. Thanks

If you workout with these mates who already deadlift and you're confident they know what they're doing then get them to check your form as you start to lift. The deadlift is one of those movements where you need to ensure that your form is A* quality or you could get injured

Much of my workout is dumbell-based (though I do use machines and cables as well, and a barbell for those bicep 21s), I would like to know the difference between a dumbell squat and a dumbell deadlift in terms of body stature and position. They look very similar, what's the difference?

Thanks
