deadlift gripping problems

the other day i pulled 225 for 5 .. and after the 3rd rep my hand started slipping .. double overhand .. so i switched to a snatch grip for the last 2 and that helped out .. but i heard double overhand should be used until over 300s or so .. so i dunno ..

how can i increase the grip ?

where did you hear that? that doesn't make any sense as the load is different for everyone depending on weight, height, experience, type of deadlift...a ton of factors. I would say for your heaviest sets, which should be your work sets (at least for conventional deadlifts as they are better utilized in the lower reps), use one hand under and one hand over, and switch them up of course.

I have a pretty strong grip (at least compared to most of the other people I see around the gym), and I loose my grip when using a double overhand grip when the weight goes over about 225. So I use a double overhand grip for my warm up sets with 135 and 225, and then either switch to an alternating grip or use straps for my working sets at heavier weights.

ok so its ok to go snatch grip .. doesnt take anything away from the lift ??
i just thought that double overhand is the best way to do it .. but
my grip slips

snatch grip makes the exersice a bit different. You mean a wide grip right? like bench press wide.. I think it hits your upper back more, and ofcource, you have to squat down lower to grab the weight.
I would learn a hook grip, but thats just me :D alternating grip is fine, one underhand and one overhand. But remember to switch which hand you hold underhand and overhand, as different grips have different effect on the back.

yeah conventional DL .. one underhand and one overhand .. i used my left underhand since my right arm is stronger .. it just feels kinda awkward using that grip .. dunno if i wanna do the hook grip lol
