Hi sweetie :). I noticed your meals and I was a little concerned. Is that all you had yesterday or did you eat dinner at night also? Do you mind if I'm blunt? To me you're eating like a heavy person on a yo yo diet. You're in the yo part of the yo yo right now. Unfortunately, people who "diet" this way also have to do the other yo part, the part where you and your body cant take it anymore and you give up and go back to eating like before, only now you'll put on more weight than you just lost. I'm not trying to be harsh, but I doubt you've gotten to your weight without ever trying a diet. You've done this before and I just wonder if anything's different about this time. Haven't you done it this way before and it didn't work?

How about trying 3 healthy balanced meals a day (with protein in each, and veggies and/or fruit in each, and the processed junkie type food being the smallest part of your meals). How about eating at least 1800 calories a day? You will lose more eating more than you do now in the long run. I know one woman who lost 140 lbs who ate between 1300-1400 calories a day, but honestly, she ate only veggies, high quality meats, low fat yogurt, etc. Not one thing processed or unhealthy, with a huge plate of veggies at every meal keeping her system full and working. Most people cant eat like that so its hard to get our nutrients and remain satiated off so little. You will lose the same amount, in the long run, eating more so why not eat more? Stop with the overly restrictive periods which are inevitably followed by the overeating periods. And I dont mean to sound discouraging, but no one I've ever heard of loses 100 pounds off eating a very small amount of overly processed completely unhealthy foods.

I'm no saint when it comes to eating, but I do try to eat a normal balanced meal whenever possible. Say, eggs/bacon/toast for bfast, a nice sandwich for lunch, and a healthy meal with mostly meat and veggies with a little starch if you want. Maybe a little treat with dinner.

I truly believe you'll be more successful in the long run if you're focus is less on getting the weight off yesterday and more on how to keep it off forever. I do applaud your efforts sweetie, and I really hope you're not taking my "critique" in the wrong way.

Have you cheered up or are you still feeling depressed? That's something important to focus on too.

I'll apologize right now if this sounds snippy but...I'm quite aware of what I eat and how much, where the calories are coming from and all that. Do I eat 3 meals a day? No, not some days. Do I other days? When I can handle it, yes. I come with a complete history of my body and food. My body is picky to food, sometimes, I can't literally eat all that I want to because my body wont allow.

Yesterday's food? Heh. When I can't keep food from running straight through me, there's no point in eating more. When my body accepts it, I try to fit in 3 meals, when it doesn't, I eat enough just so I don't pass out.

I've had my family doctor ask about my eating habits and with them knowing me complete medical past, it's quite an accomplishment for me to even get 3 meals in sometimes.

I don't do things like most people. When I first came to this site I was damn near 300lbs. I'm now 277. That's a 23pound difference. Oh I'm sure plenty of people have lost waaaay more then that in a year, and I'm sure some people have lost less. But again, when I factor in my health [health being my problem with migraines, my problems with depression, my problems with my stomach], then 23lbs is a HUGE difference to me. That is 23lbs I've KEPT off for an entire year. That is 23 lbs I've had to learn how to eat and how to make it stay off.

I rather lose 23lbs and keep it off for a year, then push myself and lose 50lbs and gain it back in the next 2 years. Do I have a lot of work to do? Of course. I have to actually train myself how to eat, but it's hard when you're constantly fighting with your body just to accept the food.

Somedays I'm fine and do things great, somedays I don't, but as for "yo-yoing", I might jump from 277 to 280, to 275, to 280, but I've been in the 270's for a month now. I don't care what number of the 270's, I'm proud of that. I'm proud that I've made the effort and have been through hell and high water with myself just to get there. It took me a lot of time and patience just to hit the 280's when I did that, and I stayed in the 280's until I learned how to eat right to maintain that weight. Once I maintained it, then I tackled the next set of numbers.

I don't care if it takes me another month to get out of the 270's, because I know for me, it isn't a simple "eat 3 meals a day, do this, do that, and woola!!" It never will be like that for me. For me, it's a do what I can, but learn to do it right, do it right when I can, and be proud of what I've accomplished.

I've been in and out of 2 surgeries in the last 2 years, been in and out of the hospital due to being given wrong meications for migraines this year, and I'm fighting a big battle with depression, truthfully, I'm just happy I'm making the effort and not giving up right now.

Thank you for what you've said, but I have taken all that into account.

Ooh and as an fyi...my eatings never been normal. I started out with severe stomach problems as a kid. and I was a very skinny kid. I never ate much as a kid, pre teen, or teenager. And I'd go in cycles. Even my Doctors have stopped trying to change it because it's been the norm for me. *shrugs*

You feel "your way" has worked well for you (even though its gotten you to 300 lbs) so I apologize for giving my unwanted two cents. Personally I feel if a person can get down 1200 calories of junk then they can get down 1200 calories of normal "real" food just as easily, but obviously I dont know the whole story.

Best of luck to you in your journey :).

Hey girl, I'm really sorry you feel that way and that wasn't my intention. People dont have to agree about everything to get along. I have my view and you have yours, no big deal. I said obviously I dont know the whole story and I dont. I just figure whatever your medical history, it couldn't hurt to eat healthier foods. I could be wrong and I stand corrected and of course no need to explain yourself to anyone, let alone me. Take care, and I definitely hope to see you around! We really do just mean well, even though you dont believe that.
