Cycling, impotence and water

Hey again!

My 2nd thread here and again it's a large part of "Cycling and water" :)

1)

I recently read that a lot of professional cyclists get impotent because of spending so many hours in the cycle seat...
I am trying to lose weight / get in shape and am concerned because I spend around 45mins-1 hour cycling at the gym.

Is that bad? Anybody have any idea how much cycling is "coming into the red / bad with chances of going impotent"?

2) Water.

When I am working out and pushing myself I sweat a lot, and I love it as it "feels" like I am working out.
It kind of tells my mind thats my reward, as crazy as that may sound.

I get very thirsty but make it a rule never to touch a drop of water while working out as that would be "cheating", after my workout
I drink 2-3 glasses.

Is the above healthy or is it better to drink water while working out?

Any advise appreciate, sorry if the questions are too weird.

Thanks,
Ryan

RE: Impotence. I've got no idea if that's even true, let alone what amount of cycling you'd have to do for it to be a risk, but all I have to do is look at a bike and my crotch goes numb. Remember, pros train for several hours a day, and most of them probably aren't impotent, so you're probably safe.

RE: Water. Drink water while training. It isn't cheating any more than breathing is cheating. Going without water while training is risky. As you start to dehydrate, the quality of your movement patterns goes down, as does your mental capacity to keep doing it right, which oput you at risk of injuries. And when it comes to dehydration, that's the least of your worries.

Thanks for the quick reply and answering my Qs :)

OT: I am not getting any emails telling me when someone replies to me, I only get to see the replies when I come back and visit the topics I created :(
